2026 journey

Update #3 3/8/26: I got my show/market turkeys for the season! I’ll be selling one at a county fair and one privately. Meaning I actually need to start that YouTube/ Facebook channel so I can film some more educational things because when I first started i couldn’t find anything to go off of, so I want to help out some other people. I also found a jackpot for full grown turkeys on April 11 so I’ll be bringing my heritage one to compete and hopefully win a buckle. My mom had also found a dairy cattle judging competition that I will be competing in around the same time.
Hope yall are having a wonderful day! 😉

So I’ve been going trough old tack that came with the house my family bought 5 years ago, I’ve been working on cleaning some to resell so I can get the tack I need for my own horse project. I hadn’t looked to closely at the saddle until I started cleaning it, on the highest rung I found this cinch from Double R Leather Co that’s a “Tuffy Cowboy Tuff” size 33. Im not sure how much it’s worth, I tried finding something online but i didn't find anything so it might be discontinued??? It’s not in bad condition at all, it’s just dusty and has maybe 2 loose threads. What do you guys think?
There’s some more box’s of random junk in the barn that I need to still go through, I’ll update as I go🫡

So… I went through those two big Costco boxes in the tack room that haven’t been opened in 5 years. I haven’t gone through all of it yet but in a tiny green box was 11 bits! Most looked to be in good condition there were two that were rusted to the point that I probably won’t sell them and just keep them as decoration or something. There was also a pair of spurs that I won’t be selling and keeping for myself :p. No idea how much all these bits are worth so if any of you know please tell me. In the other box’s there were a ton of halters, three cinches, two horse blankets, 4 books and some random grooming supplies. I’ll post an update here soon, hopefully I can make something off this and they can go to a good home.

update #5 18/3/26
I moved the turkey chicks out of my room and into the barn so they can have a bigger pen and better heat lamp, thankfully only two have angel wings this year so I need to wrap those. I think at least two of them are male, but I can't be sure as they are still on the younger end.
I'm putting my breeding rabbits into a different pen so they can get some more sun and hopefully I can get a litter of babysitter this season.
my family's milk cow is also being dried off so she can have her second calf in about a month, meaning no more fresh milk🥺. If you've ever gotten used to having fresh non pasteurized milk and had to go to regular whole milk you know it just dost taste the same. me and my mom have been talking and two things could happen with this calving, 1) she has twins because it runs in the family (especially with second and third calving) or 2) its a big baby because she was bred with an Angus (she's a jersey.) I'm hoping for twins so I can use the second as next years show steer, because MAN are cattle prices HIGH.
I also finished up cleaning the saddle, I just need to wipe (and sand off the rust) from the stirrups.
I have a date to pick up Dimitri! April 3rd!!!
hope your all having a good day!
