2026 journey

The exhibit guide for our fair just came out! The market turkey weighs have to be 15-40 Ibs, the max used to be 50. They have a breeding heifer class that I’m excited about. And I might do the halter gelding class, depending on how good Dimitri is doing by that point. If you guys have questions about the fair I’m happy to answer them :)

What breed of turkeys are used for the fair?
Broad breasted white turkeys. Because when you bring literally any other kind our judge knocks you down a few points. He’s always been odd about how he judges, excepts everyone to smile the entire time among other things.

Update #6 3/29/2026
We finally butchered our IPP feeder pig, he looked to be about 375 Ibs. When we were getting him in a smaller pen to be shot I was closing up the panel he slipped between my legs and I got caught over him and rode him for about 30 feet😂😅. But on the bright side we’ll have some bacon soon!
My rabbit is finally looking pregnant and she’s now in a different pen with better shaving.
The turkeys are looking great! They’ve gotten a lot bigger and I’ll be building a bigger pen for them here soon. The one that had an angel wing grew out of it and looks normal now thankfully. I’ll need to get some tags for all of them so me and my siblings can actually pick out what ones are ours lol.
Two of our pregnant cats had there kittens as well! 4 black and 4 black/white. One of the mama cats sort of dipped so her sister (the other mama cat) is taking care of them all.
I’m almost done rearranging the pens and panels for my horse. My neighbor is letting me and my dad use their trailer to pick him up on Friday. Hopefully he doesn’t freak out a whole ton.
Hope yall are having a good day and happy Easter!
