The refigerator itself will be fine with freezing this time. IF it has icemaker system, you shouldn't let it freeze after that has been used. We tried to vac and blow all the water out of the icemaker but it froze and split lines when we had to store ours in Iowa. Rest of fridge is still working fine 6yr later.

So... after church today kid 3 drove down to my house with my new fridge.

Spouse and I SAT IN THE LIVING ROOM while the kids unloaded the old fridge, swapped the 2 out, kid 3 had been very careful to keep the new fridge upright... so it got plugged in right away...

The kids mopped the floor where the fridge had been, put in the new one, organized all fridge items and put everything in.

Then the kids swept my floor, cleaned up some stuff that had been piling up and made stuff look nice!

I told them that it was THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!!!

Wow! After all the fantastic of the fridge... kids also cleaned out my pantry!! They also mopped my floor! One kid helped me with the sugar cookie dough, and now a different one is slicing all of the apples for pie.

The other 2 are doing shopping we forgot. That leaves only one son, and that young man is having to work Christmas eve! He does get off early though.
