Frame worthy!
I've thought about it.I would be so tempted to do a DNA test. For less than $100 you can know!
Hijack away! It's kind of on topic...I've had several of my dogs done and another of my dogs came from the breeder with the test done already. It was nice to see that the dog I paid good money for as a purebred - was actually a purebred, lol!
English Shepherd
"A farmer's helper, a loyal companion, a child's shadow: The English Shepherd."
You can also get health info. For instance we got this notification:
"Karma has one copy of a variant at the ABCB1 gene and is at risk for displaying adverse drug reactions. While she may not be as severely affected as a dog with two copies of the ABCB1 drug sensitivity allele, normal dosages of drugs could still have potentially severe effects on Karma. Please inform your veterinarian that Karma carries this variant; it is essential that they know this information before prescribing drugs."
ES's are susceptible to Collie Eye Anomaly so seeing the test result that showed she was clear of that was a relief.
Some of it is breed specific, but it's kinda nice to know.
@fuzzi - sorry for hijacking your thread!
