Caleb's Chronicles

There was another confrontation today, over the water dish. Debbie was puffed up, low threatening noises, think I heard a hiss. Caleb was less than two feet away, looking, waving tail. I told him again what a good boy he was, distracted him so he looked at me, and Debbie slipped away.

If he can continue being calm with Debbie I can deal with his acting up late in the afternoon. Something got him upset this evening, might have been a dog in his yard while we were inside. That's an ongoing work-in-progress, poor pup.

Think of it this way --- perhaps he's protecting you!
Still fine with work-in-progress you're doing great and he can learn other ways to alert you to danger. Because the possible threat while could go after him, it go go after you, the chickens or even Debbie. Me - just thinking outside the norm as usual. :)

Caleb had a play date at his foster's this afternoon.

He's tuckered out...

One of his former foster friends has been adopted, so he did most of the running around. And got to play with friendly dogs.

I had a Labrador that adored kittens. Once on TV a bunch of kittens were mewing and he got upset. He was looking all over the place for those poor kittens! Behind the TV, the sofa, searching everywhere! I turned the channel to calm him down.

"Hmm. What's this?"

A few minutes ago Caleb wandered off in the house. It was quiet. Uh oh. I said "Caleb?" and heard Debbie 🐱 give her low warning noise, "back off". She was by the water dish, he was standing close, just looking, waving his tail. I called him, he came and got lots of petting and praise.
