@Weldman you're right! I suspect it's simply because of the market for the eggs, this volume of chicken farms. Ducks are susceptible and thinking at first they blamed the spread on migrating geese...not sure.

Are your ducks providing you eggs? Have you harvested any pigs yet? Any piglets happened?

Duck eggs in Hmart and other asian grocery stores up here but its usually like the rest if the world forgot they exist. Duck eggs, when prepared correctly, tast better than chicken eggs.

Yeah we got about 12 dozen sitting in the root cellar as we speak. I'm not advertising selling any till my other ducklings start (August/September), then we will have start. We have 4 customers for duck eggs already. No piglets till July 4th time frame and haven't had time to harvest any pigs yet. No room in the freezer, rain decides to come in a day I'm off, customer decides they want some work done and the list keeps going. Might need to bite the bullet and take them to a butcher cause I'm not finding time.

We only have two grocery stores here, Wally World and Albertson. We sell most of our duck eggs to those who have chicken egg allergies.
Duck eggs are $5 a dozen here from me, have been all along and will remain that price till the price of feed goes up.

Stormy night. Started around midnight. We don’t appear to have had the predicted high winds, no hail just rain and lightning. I have to walk fences shortly, waiting for the grass to get drier. All dogs in last night. They did great, settling down and sleeping, the Maremmas particularly.

Couldn’t include everyone. Leo retired to the bathroom in a huff and Moses was still investigating. Gonna need to sweep…

I got high winds last night. It woke me up enough to know the wind was having a party, but not enough to care what time it was.

DD and girls spent the night, are gone now. Oldest granddaughter is on hold in a London airport, will fly to Vienna, then somewhere in Italy. She got bumped off, everything got rerouted, DD was on phone and laptop, trying to make things go smoothly. She flies frequently and said about every third flight, every thing goes wrong.
