I am officially declaring summer has started here. Why? Because the cold water out of the faucet is warm - yup. True sign of summer - tis what happens when water comes from the Colorado river and aqueducts that run the length of CA. 60-88 today.
Here in Texas too. The next summer ritual is the removal of all outdoor thermometers.
“How hot is it?” “It’s warm.”

So come home from work and standing by these 2 additional post I hammered in yesterday -- 6 wondering goats!! Looking in astonishment at the higher, tighter, can't jump or push down, previous jump out.  :old:clap the buck even began talking to me! I made a snide remark as I laughed out loud. He laid down by "the spot"......indignant side eye to me.

Feels soooo good!!! :yesss::celebratei won this round.

Especially with this guy. Notice the barbed wire wound on his rear leg. Not the first one. And yes he has hit a hot wire. I’ve seen him sidle up to a fence and test with whiskers. Evidently the wire he hit made no lasting impression. Or he recognizes the lack of hum from a dead or unwired fence. Retirement for him soon as Moses is stepping up nicely. He IS a good dog and I love him dearly but he’s caused some grey hair too.

Home. 🥰

Love visiting with my granddaughters but I am glad to be in my own bed, our kitty at my feet. No, she didn't miss me. ;)

I got home just as it was getting dark, approximately 530 miles driven today. While I was away Summer arrived. It's night, 85°, muggy, frogs and insects singing.

I checked on the flocks, all in place. I looked at the gardens with my headlamp...
:th
...boy did they grow in four days! Guess I will be outside in the morning once I brew my coffee.

That's gonna be a loooong week, Bay!

Work yesterday kinda nice -- rains have had me inside & annoyed -- enjoyed the out & about time. There have been some light/easy jobs this week. Out again today & done for the week. Hope grass is dried off by Wed, got to mow!

And need to change these chicks to larger housing.
Another hen committed herself to brood a nest & she needs to move location. She's not where I want her to set -- I'll move her or break her up. 🤷 I don't need chicks now -- a month ago would have been great :ththen, no incubator trials for me.

Another gosling hatched in the night, brings the count up to 15 hatched. Now all these goslings were born in our bedroom, so if you know what goslings sound like "African geese" when they hatch you will understand what I'm getting at. Sounds like they are throwing a party in there announcing to the world they are here and unlike humans the males won't shut up.
