Businesses shut down for the winter?

Yep seasonal businesses mostly notorious for towns that live off of tourists. RV parks are only open May through October here.
Up here too... lots of places shut down in the winter. Almost the entire strip by the water closes down fur the winter. Actually, stuff here usually close down right when school starts back up.

BUT we are no where near as tiny as @Poka_Doodle ! We have WAY more than 1coffee place! We have LOTS of bars, lots of churches, and 3 sit down coffee spots!

It showered overnight.

I am SO glad I pushed and got most of the leaves mowed and on the garden beds!
:celebrate :weee:yesss: :jumpy :woot

Last year Ron was declining, and we focused on him. The leaves became a sodden slippery mess on the driveway and road, and a wasted opportunity to add organic material to the gardens.

Coffee is ready. My sister in law has a 11:00 doctor appointment in Lufkin. It takes 20 minutes to get to her house, 30 to 40 minutes to get to Lufkin. Then we usually go to lunch, sometimes pick up grocery orders, get cigarettes at the tobacco barn, take her home and I get home anywhere from 2 to 4. Tomorrow she has an appointment for physical therapy, so she can learn to walk on her new prosthetic leg, at 8:30, then another doctor appointment after that. She has a disability payment through her insurance at work, but they wont pay her unless she has a doctor appointment every week and physical therapy doesn't count. She barely scrapes by, paying the bills, on what they give her. It is insane.

@Baymule is your SIL planning to go back to work? I ask because you say insurance "at work".

Woke way to early & convinced myself to go back to sleep, kinda - dozed for a while at least. Chilly 63 in my house. I'm double layered dressed and turned on a room heater. Brrr. The cold spree is continuing all week and winds/rain being added. Oughta be a real fun week -- NOT! Chores are so fun in this weather.

AND....we keep doing it! Even adding more

So we have lots of coffee places here, but when winter hits, tourists are gone (except some come to snowmobile), so most of the businesses close. Churches do stay open, not super sure how many of those we have.
Solid dusting of snow on the ground, and a high of 34. Winter is hitting.

Dry as a popcorn fart over here, supposed to maybe rain little bit today. I will just climb up in my excavator, turn the heat on, close the doors and dig away at whatever around my house. Actually I might just spend the day digging my house pad out, will make me feel better. Need to stick around close by just in case they deliver my other service truck today.
