I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat. I finally got up, took some ibuprofen and am here at the computer. Where in the heck did I get a sore throat? I wasn't anywhere except the surgery center on Tuesday and then returned on Wed. OH MY GOSH!!! It just hit me while I was typing. I got it there!! Dang it all....

Hubs was very down yesterday, so I made him go with me on a drive. We were gone about 1.5 hours. We went down to the Vancouver waterfront. I drove here and there, so we could get glimpses of the Columbia River. We looked at trees, buildings, fancy apts, the water, PDX airport. I thought we had a nice time.

We got back and after a bit, I asked him if he enjoyed the drive. "it was OK" he said. Just OK? "Yeah, my leg hurt the whole time so I was uncomfortable." Deep sigh.....
Hope you don't get too sick. Hospitals are the worst place, people get sick there way to often.

You did a good thing trying to give him something different to do. Sorry he was hurting and didn't let you know. Hope his recovery is gong well. :hugs

Morning all!
Woke up before 5... sigh What's wrong with me...😂

We're still having a very mild fall. We've had a couple of frosty mornings. It's supposed to get colder for one day next week... I'm afraid all he__ is going to break loose in Jan or February...lol

Got the leaves off the lawn yesterday afternoon/evening. Went right to work on it after we got back home from our daughter's. Today we are mowing for the last time, should have done that 3 weeks ago. Then we will water everything in one last time, blow the water lines and be mostly done with outdoor work. The bees are put away for winter, just need to take care of my chooks.

After today, we can really start to work on the inside of the house and start prepping for our master bath remodel. I will be glad when that's behind us. At least we've already picked out our tile, that's a quarter of the battle. Hubs says he's not going to build the new vanity and bathroom cabinet we're putting in where the original shower is. He expects good quality and I don't think he'll find anything off the floor that will meet his standards. We will probably get a price from a cabinet maker and the sticker shock will make him decide to build everything himself...lol That would add a lot of time and energy to the project.

Finished my tea and thinking about another. 🫖☕🍯

Have a beautiful day all! 💞

Lunch break! After feed & water tub chores, I decided to worm the herd. Just finished catching & worming 21 goats -- only 3 more to go!! They'll be caught at barn tonight. Not part of the fun program 🙄 That's done for a while. Had 3 nights of 20s freeze, with 30-40* days. 3 more coming later this week. Should be enough kill off for most of winter. Saves nutrition fed for growing those kids.

Now I can work on other things to do out there. Weather good right now 👍 plenty to do 😁

After church I fed and watered the flocks, rinsed out and refilled the rubber water bowls, cleaned out the nesting boxes, and added fresh straw. The roosters immediately checked out my handiwork, then allowed the hens to go in each box.

Now if they'd only lay eggs...

Oh, and since below freezing temps are expected Thursday and beyond, I put the faucet covers on the two outside faucets that I probably won't use until Spring. The third one requires I detach a "y" splitter and two hoses.

Will I start sleeping in more once I retire?

Cold weather coming across the US for Thanksgiving and foreseeable future. Time to get the winter clothes out of the closet...

Oops! Sorry about this weather. It's our fault for finally buying a new home. Our biggest thing was NOT moving in winter. And here we are now closing coming into an early winter. 🤦‍♀️😂

Good afternoon all you normal folks! ❤️ First cup of coffee in hand. More packing on the list. Back to work tonight so the weekends over. Back to the day to day for the most part.
Engineer is scheduled to be out at our new place tomorrow. Praying that all goes well. Final last minute "problem" we hope. Supposed to sign closing papers tomorrow. We keep being told that will still happen but I'm not sure how that will happen with the engineer going out tomorrow. With the weather shifting I'm a bit more worried about getting the move started. Stock trailer isn't exactly ideal for very cold/moist house moving. I'm worried the house boxes won't just such up moisture. I'm hoping it's just 1 load for the house and wanted to get it done before the weather got winter like.
Hope y'all had a blessed weekend! Have a great evening!
