Coffee anyone ?

Just came in from breaking ice in water tubs 😳 and feeding....wore my insulated farmer onesie, gloves, hat, neck cover. Only toes cold after. Will pull out a pair of winter boots for later. And it's not even Dec! 🥶🤬 another cold night coming.

Admitting -- I'm a cold weather wimp!!
Doing this every day Jan/Feb or more -- not wanted!

No, can't drill them out. Will have to be done with a wrecking bar, 22 ounce framing hammer and possibly a sledge hammer.

ETA My son's 100 HP Kubota would make a wrecking vehicle but I want to save as much as possible. The floor? push it up in a heap, push it in a hole and set fire to it--once the burn ban is over.
Pry board enough to slip a metal cutting blade from reciprocating saw between and cut with metal blade the nails. Or just cut part of the board with it it and the nails.

Foot of snow on the ground and one of my oldest geese was found dead in the bird house, I don't see how. Only got down to 10°F last night, with plenty of birds to keep each other warm, very odd. He was rejected by his mates when he was a gosling, so I kept him around personally taking care of him as a pet as he followed me while building the Waddle Wattle Inn, eventually returning to the flock months later. Had a deformed beak so it required special feeding, he lived almost 3 years.

Good morning everyone. Heading home today. We've had a wonderful time with our daughter and son in law. We are so blessed.
They won a bid at a charity auction for a one week stay in Tahoe. They bought plane tickets for us to fly to Reno so we could all spend the week together. That's their Christmas present to us. We fly out on the 13th. The last time I was at Tahoe was last year before my mother passed. We took her up there to have lunch for her 93rd birthday. So it will be a little sad to go there again. But, she had so much fun that day, the memory is very special.

Time for tea! 🫖☕🍯

Have a lovely day all! 💞

I remember those IL snowstorms all too well.

She in the 'burbs or the city?
Rosemont area, just east of O'Hare. They used to live closer to the Loop, on Honore, but the BLM and other riots, associated crime increases, and a positive result for lead in younger daughter's blood got them out of that old neighborhood.

I used to work in the area in Des Plaines! Ah yeah, tis a small world - I was there when the plane crashed very close to the building I worked in - ITT - International Telephone and Telegraph. The day the plane crashed I took off early to ride my horse so I missed the "excitement".

SIL is a born and raised Chicago boy. They're working on getting away from the area, maybe out of state. The crime and taxes aren't worth the nostalgia anymore.

I'm glad we were able to do some of the sights before the crime escalated.
