Wind is screaming outside, stormy, dark clouds and heavy, heavy gusts. Gizmo making Boone nutz by squeaking her new ball, and ran Randy out of the house with it.
The body is not happy today. Hopefully fatigue will hit and I’ll wake up when pain levels have receded. That’s the dream, anyway. 😁

We had a whopper of a wind storm come thru last night. Woke me up. Howling, banging, dogs panting in fear in their crates, one cat at the bedroom door yowling. Power went off at 1:30 a.m.

I got up and used the powerful flashlight to see what was about outside. The full blue recycling cart blew over and recycling all over. Way too windy with huge fir trees beside me, to go out in the dark to pick up our stuff...

Pots blown over, debris everywhere. I checked the auto tents down below and they looked sturdy. My winter spinach was upside down.

Took 2 hours to go back to sleep, but one of the reason was there was a 48 lb cattle dog on my pillow with me, a 45 lb cattle dog in between hubs and I, old cat next to my legs, and 1 yr old kitten on hubs legs.

I got up at 5:30, lit Mexican candles, fed the indoor animals, and waited. We then had to leave at 9:15 a.m. for a oncology appt for hubs, down in Portland. One freeway was closed AFTER I got on it. So I ran the shoulder, and my phone rerouted us to another freeway/bridge. We got there 15 min late, but they were very understanding.

Got home at 1:30, hubs is setting up the dual fuel generator that I bought last year; couldn't get it to start cus wifey doesn't know what she is talking about when she nags hubs go start the damn thing every so often; Blessed Power comes on a 2 p.m.

Wind was powerful but half the strength of Weldman's. My home insurance doesn't cover wind damage.
:hugs

What a mess!!! I dislike maintaining generators.

And oh noooooo forecast high today is 81 --- that's about 15-20 degrees higher than normal.
🙁❤️ Sad or happy? I'd be happy...lol

@Alaskan
Sad -- I'd send it your way if I could. We actually need it to be in the 60s. With the little bit of moisture in the ground from the rain a few weeks ago things will dry out fast with the higher temps. This is our green time of year -- to be followed by brown time in April - if the weather is normal.

Good evening everyone!
No wild weather here. Goodness some of y'all are getting crazy weather. It looks like it was a decent day here today but rain for over a week is on the way starting tomorrow. DH is getting ready so we can start packing yet again. Hoping to finish up tonight. DH is insisting on me staying home an extra day once we are done packing to rest before hitting the road. Today is our friday so part of me doesn't want to leave until sunday now when he goes back to work. Bad enough I won't see him for Christmas now. First Christmas we won't at least see each other. Decisions. Decisions. Just heard from our amazingly wonderful realtor and he's offered to come help my unload the heavy bench and couple pieces of heavier furniture I'm bringing. God has sure been blessing us. That will be huge. He lives almost an hour and a half away and still he's willing to come help. He's already been paid. I told him I'd pay him or feed him. He says we already did. He's so funny! That was for being our realtor. This is above and beyond. I'm thinking about ordering a camera system and asking if he will help me put it up so when no one is at the house I can still monitor things and call if someone breaks in. Also want to put lights in the house on timers. May have to wait for second load once the previous owners move out completely.
Well it's time to start loading again. Y'all have a great evening!
:hugs

This reminded me of when we moved into our house, in 2006. We had a family we knew from church offer to help. The dad and two adult sons showed up with a flatbed trailer behind their truck. All our furniture and appliances were loaded, transported, then unloaded into our house. I ordered pizza, they wouldn't take any money. The younger son said "We love you, you're family!"

I don't think I will ever forget that act of kindness.
