I just got my delivery of 20 ivermectin from allfamilypharmacy. I went to bed last nite with a medium sore throat. Woke up a bunch cus it was a raging sore throat.

When (or should I?) can I take an ivermectin? I don't need a cold right now. Hubs has a neurology appt this week, and since it took months to get it, I want to be reasonably healthy to meet with the doc.

I don't know anything about using Ivermectin, but I sure hope it helps you quickly.

Take it first thing in the morning -- like when you get out of bed first thing and a glass of water. You're not suppose to eat anything for an hour afterward. It doesn't work like cold meds that make you feel "better" right away. After a day or two the whole sickness starts to go away. Once a day, first thing in the morning.

FJ has taught us sooooo much about cattle over the years. Look at this robot at a large dairy barn.

I have a dairy with the robotic feeder... It works just about the way he showed... Expensive to put in but when it works, it does exactly what this guy said. Really interesting to watch it in person...
Yes, the cows like to come to the bunk for fresh feed... just like anything else.... "oh look at this, it looks better than what is in the feed trough".... even if it is the same thing...
The same way the cows will "have to" come try to take hay out of the roll on the back of the truck, even after putting another roll out 10 minutes before in the other round bale feeder....
His winter hat has Select Sires on it... Company that I did relief breeding for and who keeps my semen tank filled with the liquid Nitrogen every 3 months to preserve the frozen semen...in fact, he is coming on Tues 12/30 to top up the nitrogen....
In this video he also talks about the milk, how the higher butterfat and such gives them more money for the same "quantity" of milk... 100 lbs... since the components of the milk are higher so make it worth more... farmers try to find a balance between the higher components and the quantity of milk.... sometimes sacrificing 10 lbs for a higher butterfat is simply adjusting the feed... so the cows are making a little less milk, but it is worth as much since it has higher butterfat... and sometimes that is better on their udder ......

Neat video @murphysranch .....

As a preventative, my ivermectin says..." this is a compounded preparation. Weight based dose by mouth once . Repeat dose in 7 days...."

Also, if you are sick, then a 4 day on 3 day off should take care of the problem. It is not intended to take for consecutive days/weeks at a time...

I take the 12 mg capsule,,,,, it is something like 1 mg per 20 lbs.... yep... mine figured for 240 lbs.... I've lost a little since getting this... but not alot.
It is also hard to overdose with ivermectin. We figure the pour on based on cattle weight also... it has a small little "spray" type thing that goes on the bottle and you set the dose for the average animal you are running through the chute. But you do not have to squirt the whole dose on the animal if it is smaller... and you can refill the spray thing quickly if you need a little bit more. But, believe me, we do not weigh every animal... do a visual "guesstimate" on the weight of an animal... you get to have an eye for them after working with them for awhile...
The bottle also has some things in the "instruction sheet" and talks about dosage variations and studies that have had no discernable side affects at 10x the suggested dosage etc... it is a very versatile and "forgiveable" drug.
I just didn't think about it when I got sick(er) this time since I was still trying to deal with the tick disease and problems I have had since that.... DUH......

@murphysranch maybe gargle warm saltwater for throat since no meds taken. Honey & elderberry juice might sooth, too.

Usual day here. Up at 6, coffee & breakfast...out for chores. Grabbed an empty feed bag & stuffed it with crap stuff blown around from winds. Put into trash can. Checked all water/feeders, etc. Did head count to be sure everyone was in attendance 🙃 did a small repair on fence covering a pole gate. Took truck to side window & removed that AC. That'll help the heater! I'm only a month late on that. Today's temps aren't bad but next week will be!

Just had lunch and checking to see what else I need to do. Still pretty breezy out & that can chill ya. Tolerable for a while.
