In some ways, it could be considered a blessing, dying so quickly...no pain, lingering illness, long care facility decisions, medical expenses.

I'm glad Kay has family, hope they do right by her.
I was thinking the same. That is a good way to die. Also nice that he had gotten fully dressed for the day.

A good friend's grandfather was a preacher. He was in his 70s, riding in a car with others heading to some sort of meeting. He turned to the man sitting next to him and said "Hey, did I tell you, I'm getting a promotion!" and died.

That's a big promotion.

As to mirrors!

That used to be a "thing" my grandmother had mirror tiles, but they had gold veins on them that blurred your image a bit. As a kid I thought it was cool, but it was in a POWDERROOM! So, no nudity.

The first house I owned, down in Texas, had one wall of the dinning room/ living room as wall to wall mirrors. We had only one baby then toddler at the time. He LOVED the mirror wall!
I remember those mirrors. 😂
Until trying to bathe in a room with full mirrors I didn't even think about it being an issue. Nope! Nope! Nope! Snow blindness is a thing on top of it noooooooone wants to see all this.:hide Especially me
Oh! Yes.... I had forgotten...

In this house, the "toilet closet" has a glass door (that faces a window, not the toilet, and that window is the only one in the bathroom). I used sliver paint and painted a middle section so it feels more private, but light comes through the paint a bit, and on top is still clear glass, so when standing at the bathroom sink you can see out the window.
Paint is nice, and easily and quickly scrapes off glass if you don't like the color.
Good to know! Maybe i'll paint some quilt blocks on them :celebrate:lol:

Good evening all!
Been a busy day so far. Couldn't sleep today. Got up to a message from the insurance for our house. I don't think I've mentioned it but we closed coming on a month ago and I started working on insurance weeks before closing as it's required by the mortgage company. Well come down to closing and I'm told all is good and coverage started on the day of closing. Come to find out it wasn't. How that was allowed to happen is beyond me. So the two gals who were working on it and went out to the property apparently just up and left the company. A week or so after they left I got a call from someone i'd not spoken with before. She's the actual agent and she was trying to pick up the pieces of the mess these gals left. Admitted there wasn't oversight over them. Come to find out we didn't have insurance at closing and she was surprised when I was shocked all wasn't done since closing had already happened. She told me it was being taken care of an not to worry. This was coming a month ago now. When I was at the property she called and I notified her the mortgage had already been sold. She wasn't aware. Then asked for details on the outbuildings. Huh? :idunnoApparently they are still working on it but don't worry we are covered. To us it doesn't really sound like it. Oh and they aren't covering the new roof because they don't have proof it was done professionally and isn't in some sort of system they use to determine when a roof was done. So we went round and round on that. Then I find out they had contacted the previous owners because their receptionist goes to church with them and asked if there was a wood stove. They send a picture of the stove. Today i get a call asking about the wood stove. There is a gas insert no wood stove. Almost a month post closing and probably a month and a half from allegedly signing up for the service and we're still questioning everything but don't worry we're covered?!? I was upfront with them that we are very concerned about all of this including the roof and what happens if we need to make a claim when we can't even get service started properly or properly covered? They guarantee'd us all was good and we were fully covered short of the roof which was depreciated due to no proof it's new. Well they could just look at it or look at the pictures online of when the sellers bought it and when we bought it. Completely different roof. In the meantime we got the information from the sellers and contacted who they had insurance through and they highly recommend them. We figured at the least they already know everything about the place since they've insured it for a few years now already. Night and day. The agent is so nice. Already has a quote to us and gave us her personal phone number to answer questions over the weekend which we won't be doing. After looking over the coverage this evening we've decided to change insurance. It's going to be awkward but it's absolutely ridiculous in our opinion what's been going on and that they won't insure a new roof. I hope it's not going to be major drama to drop the "old" insurance. They've tried so hard to make us believe we are covered but we really don't believe them at this point. What a mess. I am not looking forward to the coming discussion.
Went to town today to pick up supplies that finally came in for my rig that's doing the moving. DH is working on it now in the rain. Trailer is still leaking some so trying to figure out a plan for that. Packing but not loading things yet.
It's storming here again. Not sure if we will flood or not but they are claiming all is lost again. Only got a total of 3 inches last all is lost.
Hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!:hugs

Surprised the mortgage closed with no certificate of insurance endorsement in hand 😳 take the new agent ( prev insurer) and advise the sloppy mess....BUT make them provide endorsement of coverage between close date & this new one. Otherwise mortgager can place & charge! Always a hassle & expensive. Be careful but, luckily no loss during that time.

Not a good surprise. 🫤

The insurance gal who left provided proof of some sort. What gets me is when this agent started "fixing" what was (or wasn't) done that's when we finally signed something which means what they provided couldn't have been proof? The whole thing is confusing and leaving a very uncomfortable feeling. Thanks for that info. This is all new to us and quite frustrating. Especially for the cost. Not looking forward to monday's discussion with them for sure.
