So glad the insurance craziness is starting to get ironed out. What a nightmare.Good evening everyone!
Hope y'all had a great day. Been windy and raining today again here. Supposed to be a break coming. Need to go get the jersey girls alfalfa tomorrow if it does break. Met with my friend today and picked up another load of boxes she's been collecting for us. Had a nice visit and showed her pictures of our new house. She's one of the few we have told we are moving to.
Called the new insurance company today and started up insurance. Tomorrow we fire the "old" insurance. Come to find out they changed the coverage to below $100,000 of our homes value in all of this "we are fully covered, don't worry" saga. I can not wait to give them the boot tomorrow. I don't even know how I missed this dramatic under insuring. New company has us fully insured for the proper amounts and there has been zero drama. They told me to wait until tomorrow to cancel other insurance so they can get all of their information uploaded to the mortgage company in the morning. Also called the new mortgage company to make sure how we are to get them paid since the last mortgage company is the one who paid the current insurance. That will be a slight pain but not terrible to take care of. They had also sent us an opt out document if we wanted to opt out of them sharing and selling all our information. What a nightmare to actually opt out of. They were very concerned we may miss important refinance options or deals. We have no intention of refinancing right now at least or hopefully ever not to mention mortgage rates are due to increase not decrease anyways. They really did not want us to opt out of all the spam. Allegedly it is done now thought.
Other than that nothing much exciting yet this afternoon. Going to work on more packing this evening I hope. Sure is stressful trying to make this all work out in a timely manner. Especially when companies are giving us troubles.
DH is just waking up. So we're sitting here having coffee discussing today insurance stuff. Will be up getting started on chores soon.
Have a good evening all!
No goats nearby.Question. Why don’t you guys feed orphans goats milk? Seems like that’s a good choice. More digestible than cows milk.
Thanks. We are starting to take a breath now. It's been uncomfortable not trusting we are truly insured. I never know if it's just a trust thing from being where we are for so long now or if I'm rightly not trusting the situation. This new agent is night and day. She's so kind and helpful and everything has been done in a timely manner. So glad the insurance craziness is starting to get ironed out. What a nightmare.
I might have missed it, well I'm sure I did. When are you hoping to be fully moved?
Great! It's been a little confusing. It was paid at closing via the initial mortgage company. I'll be sure to keep good records of all that. Good idea. I'll be sure to ask how long it will take for the refund. I wouldn't have asked that. Really good to know about the insurance commission. I'm truly appalled at how this has all gone. Not to mention that the 1st mortgage company was ok with substantially under insured apparently and not having confirmation of coverage since we found out it wasn't started at closing as it was supposed to be.@RR Homestead the first ins Co will refund to you., because you paid it...even if via closing. Be sure to get all names you talk with & a confirmation sent by txt, email, etc, to you.. The refund should be fast!!! Ask when you will receive. Be sure it is. Otherwise, the State ins commission should be advised.
They are not allowed to delay. So check should be cut & mailed within 3 days, approx.
You have neighbors from Switzerland? I must have missed that. Which ones are they?coffee is ready. Tinkerbelle has had her bottle and I'm on my first cup of coffee. Today my SIL has therapy, a doctor appointment, picking up her 2 grocery orders and a carton of cigarettes. My neighbors from Switzerland are keeping Tinkerbelle for me. They are excited to take care of her.
