Up at 2am, couldn't sleep, not sure why. I did take my supplements after supper, could that have done it, hmm?

Drove my SUV to the garage for inspection, picked up the Honda that we left overnight as it needed a new battery, ca-ching. After getting home I took Caleb for a walk at the park. After the trail I walked him through the playground, picnic shelter. On the way home I got gas, stopped at a drive thru for a BBQ sandwich, all new experiences for him. He's crashed out in his crate, but a good tired I think.

Cold weather coming in a couple days, a slight respite from previous forecasts that had below freezing coming in tomorrow.

More lambs and another suspicious Moses vicinity death. And a bottle lamb- one of the triplets. I’m giving her Auntie Bay’s milk recipe. Moses, Moses what is going on with you? You’ve been through two lambings with no problems. You’re well fed. Damn there are days when you wish they could talk.

@RR Homestead have you asked the sellers about the neighbors? Who is a good neighbor, who is not and who to stay far, far away from? Then possibly go meet those neighbors in person, exchange phone numbers, just in case they feel the need to contact you. Stay in touch with them.
We got a rundown on the neighbors all around before we purchased. One of the mandatory questions we ask. Bad neighbors is a fear of ours at this point. We went through them all again when I was there. We haven't actually met them yet. Only 1 is relatively antisocial but all are kind and mind their business but help if needed. We'll be giving a batch of our famous (so i'm told :idunno) peanut brittle to each neighbor to introduce ourselves once we are there I'm sure.
Coffee is ready. Up at 4, fed lambs, cleaned dog crate, it’s a mess from overnight. It’s a pee conspiracy. Toss in tiny lamb poops, step in it and make it an icky mess for mom.
Got 2 more bottle babies, the ewe died yesterday from worms. I’d already wormed her twice. It’s supposed to be winter, 🥶 but nobody notified the worms. Lambs are 3 weeks old, I’m leaving them in a jug and taking bottles to them. More for me to do.

I saw a picture on facebook of a cabin after a bear broke in and tore it up. I’m my post, I asked if I could borrow the bear to clean things up in here. 😁
I'm very sorry about your ewe. We have lost a few goats over the years to liver flukes. At the time we weren't worming with products that were working on them. The parasite loads are a huge concern at the new place. I'm hoping we find a good vet or cattleman who can get us on a good routine there.

May I ask what Auntie Bay's milk recipe is? I'm guessing it's @Baymule's recipe? Totally ok if it's not ok to share.

Darned dog, I'm so sorry! Our lab would kill chickens, but only if other dogs came into the yard. Then he would just lose his mind! We would tie a dead chicken to his collar for a few days, (don't know if it helped, but we did it anyway) then absolutely no issues, until other dogs came again. He was the perfect dog, except for that.

Good afternoon all!! :hugs
Warm hugs all around!
Having a second cup of coffee. Got up and fed the calves. Both have overeating scours. Seems that no matter how much I try I just can't prevent those for the first two weeks. We're down to 2 minutes of nursing and cutting them off. Giving Imodium twice a day as soon as stools started getting loose. Hoping to not have true scour issues. Milking mom once a day to relieve the remaining quarters. Putting away some milk, cream and butter again for a bit. "Mom" is doing ok with the calves. Not taken them completely yet but she's getting better. Looking forward to when they can all be together on pasture.
Spent another hour on the phone with the health care company for our aunts trust. I refused to talk to another agent and demanded a supervisor. I'm so beyond DONE with this nonsense. The form they sent that they wanted filled out and notarized was to get the refund check to come to us here in our name. I don't know how many ways I can explain it's the trusts check and the beneficiaries NOT OURS!!!! They absolutely refuse to send the check to our address even though the bills come here and have for almost 6 months now. :he:he:he:he:he They are canceling the old check and reissuing the check that was sent a month ago and it's going to the old address. The supervisor tells me she's going to follow up with me and let me know when it's been done. I wont hold my breath. After that call I called the post master back and notified him so he can keep an eye out for it and make sure it's actually forwarded. Once this check arrives and is deposited we can FINALLY close the trust. 6 months of constant calls, documents and nonsense for far less than $100 per beneficiary. 🤦‍♀️ But hey! We are un-trust worthy according to certain members of the family who are furious they aren't in control of the trust. 🤷‍♀️ Ok. I should probably not vent. Sorry all. I can not stress how much I want this nightmare behind us. I can not believe how greedy people can be. The richest ones in the family to boot. Ok. Sorry again. Signing off until I can stop ranting. :hide
