You've stolen out weather?!!High of 44 today. Temps will continue bouncing around 30's, 40's and 50's, overnight lows in the upper 20's. We usually get an arctic blast in January, well see what happens in February. This is the warmest winter we've ever had.
I think there's a lot of that going on, so figured I might as well get in on it! I'm enjoying a little So Cal weather and it's not costing me a thing! You've stolen out weather?!!

We got a rundown on the neighbors all around before we purchased. One of the mandatory questions we ask. Bad neighbors is a fear of ours at this point. We went through them all again when I was there. We haven't actually met them yet. Only 1 is relatively antisocial but all are kind and mind their business but help if needed. We'll be giving a batch of our famous (so i'm told@RR Homestead have you asked the sellers about the neighbors? Who is a good neighbor, who is not and who to stay far, far away from? Then possibly go meet those neighbors in person, exchange phone numbers, just in case they feel the need to contact you. Stay in touch with them.
) peanut brittle to each neighbor to introduce ourselves once we are there I'm sure.I'm very sorry about your ewe. We have lost a few goats over the years to liver flukes. At the time we weren't worming with products that were working on them. The parasite loads are a huge concern at the new place. I'm hoping we find a good vet or cattleman who can get us on a good routine there.Coffee is ready. Up at 4, fed lambs, cleaned dog crate, it’s a mess from overnight. It’s a pee conspiracy. Toss in tiny lamb poops, step in it and make it an icky mess for mom.
Got 2 more bottle babies, the ewe died yesterday from worms. I’d already wormed her twice. It’s supposed to be winter, but nobody notified the worms. Lambs are 3 weeks old, I’m leaving them in a jug and taking bottles to them. More for me to do.
I saw a picture on facebook of a cabin after a bear broke in and tore it up. I’m my post, I asked if I could borrow the bear to clean things up in here.![]()
May I ask what Auntie Bay's milk recipe is? I'm guessing it's @Baymule's recipe? Totally ok if it's not ok to share.More lambs and another suspicious Moses vicinity death. And a bottle lamb- one of the triplets. I’m giving her Auntie Bay’s milk recipe. Moses, Moses what is going on with you? You’ve been through two lambings with no problems. You’re well fed. Damn there are days when you wish they could talk.
Darned dog, I'm so sorry! Our lab would kill chickens, but only if other dogs came into the yard. Then he would just lose his mind! We would tie a dead chicken to his collar for a few days, (don't know if it helped, but we did it anyway) then absolutely no issues, until other dogs came again. He was the perfect dog, except for that.More lambs and another suspicious Moses vicinity death. And a bottle lamb- one of the triplets. I’m giving her Auntie Bay’s milk recipe. They are canceling the old check and reissuing the check that was sent a month ago and it's going to the old address. The supervisor tells me she's going to follow up with me and let me know when it's been done. I wont hold my breath. After that call I called the post master back and notified him so he can keep an eye out for it and make sure it's actually forwarded. Once this check arrives and is deposited we can FINALLY close the trust. 6 months of constant calls, documents and nonsense for far less than $100 per beneficiary.
