Good morning all! :frow
Just picked up another bull calf from the dairy. :celebrate Another huge bull calf. The sires name is Bulldozer and I tell ya it's fitting for the calves coming out of him. 😂 Definitely not a heifer bull. Going to keep the two brutes on our current milker and take the small calf that's recovering from being sick and put him on the heifer that will calve this week. He should be completely healthy by then and since he's small and slower he should be a good fit for the heifer. I'll just toss the placenta on him and he should be hers pretty quickly. For now all 3 calves are on our current milker. Her eyes sure got wide when she saw a 3rd one coming. 😂 She's currently less than impressed with her herd of holsteins but she feeds them well. Hopefully just a matter of another week or so and she'll start to accept them. Going to be chaos if the heifer calves and I'm still working on grafting. Wrong time of year for this.
Super foggy yet again. It's not normal to have this much fog for so long. It's been weeks at a time this winter. Then a week or so break for rain then back to socked in fog. We really need some sunshine. Grass should really go nuts once we get some sun. Forecast is fog for the next 14 days. Hope they are wrong.
Think it's time for some tea before bed. Y'all have a fantastic day! :hugs

Back to job work a couple days this week. Full tilt next week. What a rude awakening. 🫨. Always is the first couple of weeks back at it. It's fine. After all, they don't force me to be an employee.🤷

It's mid 20s, so I'll have some ice to break...won't be much. Glad the rains are gone. Prob some ice to dump from trough feeders, too. Better get out there soon.

Lady I get hay from has a new load in. I'll go get a couple bales and test it, see if I want more. Ya know, each trailer load is different. But there is so much rebaled coming out of PA now, I hate it! It's not in nice pads like all hay used to be 😞 You grab a pad & it falls apart in your hand 🤬 like confetti.

Another cuppa & I'm gonna start my day. 😊

Morning y’all, only one cup of coffee this morning. Gotta go get a super bag of feed, going through a lot with all these ewes and lambs. It’s suppose to be rainy starting Wednesday through Saturday. Possible wintery mix Saturday. If the road floods, I’m stuck here, the Kawasaki mule is down, bearings, axles and drums. So I’m stocking up on what I need, more potty pads for the house lambs. LOL

Good morning!
:caf

Esther was a little more alert this morning. She sat on my lap quietly, but resisted me opening her beak, good. I got another dose of Corid in her, but she then resisted me syringing water. So, I offered her the cup of water, and she DRANK. A LOT. Very good.

I'm going to offer her a little scrambled eggs in a few.

Good morning all! Looks like it's going to be a balmy 33° today. Low to mid 30's until Sunday, then 40's and finally 50's around the 1st. I'm the first one up this morning, it's always so peaceful, no demands, well except from the cats. They hear me and then they make sure that I hear them out in the garage and that they are starving...lol

Time for tea...🫖☕🍯

Have a lovely day! 💗
