Checked on everyone this morning. Old ewe died, not expected but not surprising. Everyone else in good shape. Was 45 yesterday and will be in the low 50’s today. Nights are still in the mid twenties. The ranch is leaveable with 4 wheel drive which I don’t have but I’ve got what I need so no worries. I think the driveway hill will melt today. Have a good and safe day everyone.
Sorry you lost another one.🙁 Hopefully the rest continue to stay healthy.

Glad your temps are warming up. Hope you have a good day too!

I made hubs French toast and asked if he wanted an egg with it, he did, so I cooked it up. Brought it to him and asked him where he wanted it on his plate, he cleared a spot, as I was serving it, a piece dropped on the counter, not missing a beat, he says, "or the counter". :gig I love starting my day with laughter.

Good afternoon all!
Sitting here with a cup of relatively cold coffee trying to unwind a little after yet another trust call to "healthcare". :he :he :he :he :he Finally got to the bottom of why the refund check was never received. They sent the check to the old address that we sold months ago. No problem since we did the USPS forwarding right? Nope. Apparently the "health care" sent the refund to "the estate of" instead of just her name and the USPS doesn't forward "to the estate of". Really?! Called the local post master and he's going to watch for it in that "name". He had the information right in front of him. That surprised me. I was able to inform him it was actually mailed yesterday instead of the 15th like they previously told me. So hopefully this nightmare will be over in the next two weeks or so and we can close the trust for good. Taxes for it are friday so as soon as those are filed and the final check is deposited we can pay out the remaining balance and close it. I can't even begin to describe the relief I will feel when it's all done. A HUGE thing off my plate which means I can focus even more on moving.
Calves are doing pretty good today. Looks like all 3 calves nursed on their own without being kicked off. Good progress. I really hope we are over the worst now with them all. Still treating a few with herbs for over eating scours but so far that's keeping it from getting worse.
Time to pay bills I've been putting off paying. We've sunk a fortune in parts over the last month or two. Now tires and about to buy bigger truck tires which will be extremely expensive. Not looking forward to that bill. Just occurred to me if we can close the trust the check we will get will cover the tires at least and maybe some of the parts. Blessings!
Going to take a few minutes and read through a new book that just arrived. Recommended by a friend. "The complete herbal handbook for farm and stable". Hopefully it has very good information in it. My friend said it's been very helpful so I'm looking forward to it.
Hope y'all are having a blessed day!:hugs @farmerjan hope you are feeling better every day. :hugs

It's hard to deal with incompetent people. Hope you get the check quickly and can close it all out. :hugs

Yay for the calves and blessings! 💞

I woke up at 3 AM. Just had a cup of coffee with some of @drstratton honey in it. I've been using it sparingly, a 3 AM wake up is reason for hitting the honey pot!

I don't use the hood on the sweat hoodie. It annoys me. I use a knit hat and it keeps my head warm. I'll have to check into the snow pants. I have to wrap the leg of the flannel lined jeans to cram in the tall rubber boots that I wear and that is annoying too. I'm in and out constantly and have to kick off the boots, the back steps make a great boot jack. Then have to balance on one foot while twisting the leg on the jeans so I can get the boots back on, or sit down. And just the Lord help me if I'm ankle deep in mud, in the midst of doing something and I have to pee. Once I get in the house, off comes the Carhart coat, off comes the Carhart overalls, then have to drop the jeans, peel off the tights.......then i have to suit up to go back outside. That. Gets. Old.

This morning I have to take my sister in law to a doctor appointment, then pick up some groceries. I need a couple of things from the feed store and milk. I've got 2 more weeks of bottle feeding.

From looks of it you had more than just a cup of coffee to respond to a page worth of threads :gig I can barely keep up with one or two threads.

High of mid 40's today "allegedly" as was supposed to hit 39°F yesterday, it only made 29°F. Snowing right now and winds are picking up. Picked up two tons of feed for the pigs yesterday in my service truck, truck without feed weighed in a 12,100 lbs and exactly 16,440 lbs with feed.

Slept long & hard last night...prob chores & work did me in. Still cold here -- 25-30* below norms for close to 2 weeks now. Low teens again this morn. Yesterday's sun appearance melted some ice, not all by any means. Still bust ice & arse, tote water time. Now they're saying we'll be adding several inches of snow this weekend :he :thAnother week of this ???😖

Soooo tired of this weather. Southern wimp? :idunno:old

Woke up at 3 fed lamb. At 4 coyotes were raising a ruckus so I let Caddo and Sophie out and checked on the sheep. Left Caddo and Sophie in the front yard and they found a way out. Commence walkabout. Caddo turned up at 6, no Sophie. So I’m warming up to check around the property, having repeatedly checked gates. Not happy with Hubbs’ attitude of “she’ll be back”. And right now would not be the time to ask me to sing the praises of LGDs. Edit. The bad penny showed up. I wonder why she was so far behind? And wet. Varmit.
