Morning all. Hubbs has a cold and is grumpy. He was traveling last week, probably caught a bug. Or it could be the huge amounts of pine and oak pollen floating around. I’m a bit sniffly myself and I’m generally not prone to that. Peach tree is blooming, the pears are thinking about it but the apple tree buds are still tight. The crabapple has blooms and leaves and is ? 7-8 feet tall. It will be a big tree that will soon shade the sheep’s water bunks. I Still have to find Moses’ get out spot. I noticed a deer bash (my term for when a deer collides with or jumps and fails to clear the fence) I’ll bet Moses is using one near “the twins” (two pines trees). The land has nooks and crannies and unsurprisingly I gave them LOTR names. The Old Forest (never been in there can’t navigate the trees and brush. Neither has anyone else recently). The gap of Rohan where the seasonal creek meets the plain of Rohan (and where Eowyn was reputed to shop :hide ). The dead marshes- hog territory. And the Angle. It is bordered by a patch of woods where some really strange things have happened. I haven’t named it and rarely go there. Have to today though to check fence. Welp more than you wanted to know. I’d better get busy.

Good morning - a day to get things done around here. No pressing trips to town - though perhaps to the PO to pick up a package. Hoping to get the garden beds done today. Six cattle panels await to become arches over some of the beds. Tomato plants 3 Bush Early Girls and a Lucid Gem (purple on top and orange on the bottom - from DDIL). And various seeds. Got to finish a seed order.
Heading to 80s today 🥵
Have a good one.

Our power is out! Wonder how long it will be for the crews to get it back up. Kind of scary for them in this wind.

The high wind gust clocked yesterday at Priest Rapids Dam was 88mph, today was 77.

It finally blew over half of a dead poplar hubs didn't cut down. It's a huge tree, it was leaning and had a split that made it dangerous for him to cut. So we decided to wait for a big wind. I wish the whole tree would have come down. It also took out an evergreen.

We lost a Russian Olive, I'm bummed about that one. It's a nectar source for our bees.

This is a fir tree, it's been on its way out. We had propped it up, hoping it would send out better roots, but it finally went all of the way down.
