I saw a recent clip of an interview in which Governor Gruesome plainly stated that California has lower taxes than Texas. For the life of me I don't know why lightening did not strike him dead for being such a liar.
I ask myself how he's not struck by lightening every time he speaks. I have yet to hear him speak one truth.
All I can say is- I love the midwest!

Coffee is ready here. Not particularly ready for the crazy long day of work, but I will be once I have my coffee.
Used some shavings from my woodshop for my chickens yesterday, felt smart.
Y'all have a lovely day!
I LOVE the midwest so far too. 😂 If only we lived there. 🤦‍♀️
Sorry @RR Homestead -- this state is a mess giving away promises for votes while padding their pockets with gold. It's the new gold rush. I'm stuck here, but I will say I'm not dealing with crazies and housing developments encroaching (yet). I love the land - it's beautiful family is here and that's another why we stay. When I go into town I see how things have changed and it's not for the good. I'm so sorry that you're being robbed by the state. You've given a lot, got not much if anything, and the state wants more while bringing in /letting in those who only know how to say "gimme".
I understand what you are saying. For years it was just the growth encroaching that annoyed us. Now it's the gimme people who have turned our area into a 3rd world country. The lawlessness makes it so much worse. My DH's family is all here still. Within 1000 yards as the crow flies in almost every direction. We can't stay anymore. His folks will likely come live on our property (in MO) sooner than later. The rest will have to do what's best for them. We've all waited it out long enough in hopes it would get better. We're getting to old to keep on fighting here. These day's feeling too old to be moving a ranch.

Good afternoon all! :frow :frow
Calf tubed. Hopefully the last time. It was quite the rodeo. She definitely is protesting. Good signs. Hopefully tonight I can get her back on her temporary mom. Her true adoptive mom still hasn't calved but we are getting closer. Currently 97* outside. Everyone is panting. They all still have winter coats. Have the older milk cow up to milk tonight. We're about out of milk. Her sickly calf is improving a bit more as the weeks go on. Definitely has lung damage but is now growing well and often I see him running with his "brothers".
Sara (feral cat) is about to get released in the house. Her chip feeder came today. We're still not sure if she's truly ready but we'll deal with what comes as it happens. Hopefully all will go well. Can't pick her up or scruff her yet so we may have some challenges for a bit. We normally let them loose in certain rooms of the house then put them back in their cage at night. Just not sure she's food driven enough to go back in and since we can't pick her up it may be an issue. She's ready to come out and play. Just not sure the other cats are ready for her to be released. 😂 Finally appears we got her ear mites gone and she's been wormed. Seems to be over her cold as well. She's playing a lot in her pen now. Took her a long time to relax. Should be fun seeing her play in the house. Maybe she will get the others to play.
Going to get a few more chores done before DH wakes up. Y'all have a fantastic and blessed afternoon/evening! :hugs

Still fighting the crud I picked up. Don't feel too terrible, but I didn't run this morning, and I never skip my run.

Heading down to grab my coffee and breakfast and head into work. Warm temperatures here, that part is weird.
My mother believed that fluctuating outside temperatures brought on illness. She said it put a strain on the body, exposing weakness in the immune system.

I fired Chat GPT for not doing what I asked and this is what it said:

About noon I started the taxes, and finally got them done after 3. I had double the usual 1099 forms, half were Ron's little pensions, the others were the ones I'd inherited. Software insisted that I was on disability.
:hu

Finally unchecked a few items, added a "0" for my disability income  and it filed!

Gardening tomorrow, Lord willing!

witch out a few QR valves so I can stop the dump truck when loaded. Crazy to be loaded at around 30 tons going down a steep hill into town that drops down from 45 to 25 mph and you are just slowing down, but not enough to stop the rig. It's what I call the pucker effect, make sure no traffic in front.
Prepare to hit something cheap.
Then I need to work on some lights, the road has managed to bust the two turn signals on the front, knocked loose or broken connections on all other lights so I have no headlights. Did I mention I never had a heater in it or A/C? It drives, hauls and dumps is what it does do
sounds like most of my trailers.
I just wish we all could have our normal weather back.
average is not normal. Same day every year could be a high or low near record. Did that record cold/heat hit the beginning of march last year or the end? It just feels that way because of the average.
Good morning everyone! I'm at my husband's mercy this morning, what am I saying, it's an every day thing...lol Helping him solder the new copper water lines for our bathroom this morning.
Look at it this way. The more help you give him the more likely he is to get to do it or even start and the more likely to finish and easier for him means faster you get the bathroom, not the water shut off until....?

I'm a firm believer and know many who are. Your body gets used to this then we get that.
