Keeping a cup of coffee down, after puking from leaving the hospital at noon, until 11 last night. I do have a plastic pitcher to throw up in just in case..... Maybe I'll try to eat something and take a pain pill. My tummy is sore but not unbearable. No picking up anything over 5 pounds. Down for SIX WEEKS. Son is staying at night, just in case I need him. I don't ever want to do this again.
:hugs :hugs :hugs

Good afternoon all! :frow
Currently 93* outside. 80* in the house. Really hard to sleep as if it's easy without the heat.
Have oils and butters melting to make DH his favorite soap. Hardly need the heating pot with how hot it is in the house. 🥵 Once they are all melted then cooled back down a little bit I'll add the rest of the ingredients and get it molded. First time I've done a double batch at the same time of this one. Hopefully I don't regret that decision. It's a soap that can come to trace very quickly. Hopefully a double batch will get him through the rest of the move and give me time to get things unpacked a bit before he want's more. There's other soaps but this one is his favorite. Especially in the heat.
On the cow/calf front the newest sick calf is doing great. I think he's on the mend. Will keep them in a few more days to be sure he's good to go then move them back out to pasture. Beef is night and day from dairy. That's for sure. The dairy graft calf is still flirting with being sick. I've still got her stable for the moment but it's a struggle. I'll be very glad when the jersey heifer calves and we can get her on her and in a proper area.
That's about it for now. Time to go finish making soap. Will check in later I'm sure.
Y'all have a fantastic evening! :hugs

2 loafs of soap curing. So far it looks and smells good. Will unmold it and cut the bars tomorrow. Did a little different essential oil blend this batch. Hope DH likes it. A bit more eucalyptus essential oil than the last batch. I'm hoping it will be better for ticks etc. We should have those at home.
This heat is taking it out of me. Will have my hands full once the jersey heifer calves. Part of me is praying she goes NOW and part of me wants her to wait until it cools off a little. If I believe the forecast. They keep saying it's only in the low 90's yet all our thermometers are saying near 100 or more. 🤷‍♀️ It's 60* at the moment and feels lovely.
Waiting on weekend milk to chill before I put it away. Milkers all cleaned and put up. Once the milk is swapped I'll treat the jersey cross calf and close everything up up. She was actually a bit spunky tonight. She's still not better but hopefully making steps in the right direction.
Hope y'all have a fantastic and blessed day! :hugs

Good morning all. Coffee's going and I made to the camper for the creamer and the laptop. I'm finally back home for a bit. I've drank black coffee for 25+ years and just switched to creamer a few months ago, now I go out in the dark to get the creamer.

HAPPY SPRING

Yes spring is here and I can feel the pressure of the business ramping up and I have yet to book any clients. As I have said before, I'm taking my security blanket, teddy bear and going home to work on my own things f ck the unappreciated neighbors. If they need me they will call. I haven't even wrenched in a couple of months either.
More of pressure from getting my own house ready to build and built enough to survive next winter. Name of the game, prep for winter here.

It's a high of 60, and its march, in Montana...
This is only my second 5 day work week out of the last 5 weeks, and this weekend will be only my third free weekend since the beginning of January. Hoping to get some baking done, not sure what else I'll come up with. The rise in gas prices makes it a lot less exciting to leave town.

I could finally hold down a pain pill and took a trammadol yesterday and another one before I went to bed. I slept like a rock, only woke up one time, then slept until almost 8am. My supper was a piece of cornbread split in half, heated up with butter and some delicious buckwheat honey from @drstratton. I'm thinking some oatmeal for breakfast.

Gonna be another day like yesterday. A balmy September day starting at 70 heading to 95 (but will probably hit 99-100 or so if it goes the way the rest of the week goes). I've got sheep things to do but the poor things are stressed with the heat so I'm holding off on somethings. With the heat we've got the inevitable flies. A few weeks ago or so grasshoppers appeared. We usually don't see them until July-ish. Now they're all over. Oh and our concrete driveway is full of dead rolly-pollies. :sick That's pretty much normal but not in the amount we're getting now.
Any one have a tinfoil hat they care to loan me?!
