Coffee anyone ?

My local organic meat source will be offering raw milk, cow or goat.

Which should I try?

I have not been able to tolerate cow's milk, ice cream, most dairy for years. I've wondered if a pure form might be tolerated.
It depends why you can't tolerate cows milk.

When my second son was tiny, he was fine on breastmilk, but got the runs on cows milk, and was fine on goat milk....... and then we found out the kid is Celiac! We took out all gluten... and now he can eat as much dairy as he likes... all good. Point being, he had issues with cows milk because it is harder on the gut, and he had gut issues. He had zero issues with lactose.

Raw milk has all the enzymes in it that help your body digest it, so it tends to be easier to digest. But clearly, it is still full of lactose.

But also, insert all the stuff that @RR Homestead said. The A2A2 cow milk is easier to digest.

As to goats, still lots of lactose, but the fat in the milk is way easier to digest.

And, the taste of goat milk can be WILDLY different. So I suggest, if you don't like the taste but your body digests it just fine, try it a few more times. If the goat milk is super fresh, and chilled down right after milking, it has almost no taste. But it does get more flavored the older it is. Also, what the goat eats (and I am sure it is also true with cows) hugely changes how their milk tastes. AND also the fat content. I greatly preferred the milk from my Sannen goat, since it was pretty low in fat. I am used to drinking 2% milk, and her milk was about the same. I don't like drinking half-and-half straight.

I live in hurricane country. Running from a hurricane with a disabled hubbie is almost impossible. We opted for this:

Looks like prices have risen considerably since we purchased ours - but I was determined to feel safe - and we do. We rode out Hurricane Beryl in it a couple years ago and were never worried about our safety while trees were coming down all around us.
What a great idea. I never thought about this for hurricanes. Good thinking! Really glad you have a safe place for you both if needed.

Happy early Easter everyone! We will be on the road to Oklahoma early tomorrow, so don't know when I'll get on here.

Have a lovely day! ☀️🐝🌺🌻🌸☀️
If you were a day earlier (maybe more it took me 36 hrs) and depending on your route we'd be passing each other tomorrow. I'm headed to Nebraska from OK tomorrow. Should've been today. Any way I noticed less Mountain climbing going through NE vs CO on my way to the tri cities in WA.

Yes YES

I greatly preferred the milk from my Sannen goat,
I've also noticed the different taste. We had a Jersey cow and Nubian goats growing up. I've never liked either. Love holstein but the last time I had a glass to double check my lactose. It wasn't pretty. Sad I like a glass of milk before bedtime.
I still should get checked of the actual problem like ya'll did. Is it lactose, gluten (i know the beer doesn't help) or something else? I don't know what, just know there is other issues/allergy's.

I don't know why I get sick from milk. Sometimes even white chocolate bothers me, mostly not. I can eat most cheese, Colby, etc., just not soft like cottage or cream cheese.

Tonight I'm tired. Up early, 8:30 was at work. 6 hrs of moving stock & adding more, boxes & boxes of it! Errands on the way home After home, checked everyone, collected eggs, scrubbed yellow from water tubs (that time of year) refilled and I'm just whipped. :idunno 8:30 & I'm looking at bed time😊Hope I don't wake up at 2 or 3 -- need to sleep thru.

Happy Easter, in advance :bunny

We'll be going through Nebraska too. I want to avoid Denver. Sounds like we'll be traveling the same route. Our son & his family are in NW OK. If I knew when we were passing I'd wave...lol Here's one anyway. :frow

I live an hour from the Tri-Cities. Are you just visiting someone there?
