Coffee anyone ?

It's taken me over a week to catch up.

I've watched the drought moniter constantly since 2012 with our 4-5 year drought. Even needing 4X4 with some serious tread to get a bale of hay out, it still says we are in a slight to moderate drought. I'm not sure how they figure it. Everybody says yea it's wet here but we don't have the ground moisture. As a matter of fact we've had little rain for over 6 months and I noticed constant wet ditches that haven't dried since "maybe" last August with us in a "drought".
I wonder if that map shows up more (daily on Tulsa news 6) because of climate change encouragement.????

I thought the weather was normal several times so far this year and then a 30 degree change for the worse that actually brought it closer to the normal temps. That's this year alone in 3 different states.

The online searches definitely don't show what they used to. A lot driven by ads and other things in the websites.

When we had an RV we had those ginormous books (probably at least 3 inches thing and on almost phonebook type paper) that listed all the campgrounds in the US. KOA was one book and I forgot the name of the other. Obviously those are now a thing of the past and considered <cough> vintage.
I loved those books. They are very hard to find now. Even hard to find anyone who knows what I'm asking for, even at a R.V./camper store.
Was looking at our weather and then pulled the national Drought monitor up... I did not realize that NC was nearly all in severe drought and some extreme drought conditions... and the southern part of GA and most of FL is in extreme and exceptional drought status... For an area that usually gets alot of rain, frequent showers and such... that is really bad for their whole ecosystem.
This lack of water is very troubling.
I covered that. Not going deeper today.

Note the size difference between the game hens and the regular BANTAM Dominiques!

A game hen doesn't need size. With chicks she will be the baddest bird in the yard (unless there's another game hen). I used to have a bantam game hen that would attack and smooooooth run off the neighbors peafowl just strolling through the pasture. And the bantams aren't as tough as the full size. Maybe.

I ordered some full size game for the kids to show in 4-h and their excellent setting and mothering abilities. I will start raising some starting May when we get the chicks.

Puppy. Whenever I doubt myself or feel overwhelmed, puppy. She has a very direct approach to life. Eat, play, love. Check out that clump of grass. Lick the bottle lamb’s face. Pull Moses’s tail. Run. Run some more. Run after that. And for context I’ve had a little trouble in paradise the last couple of days. Animals are fine but disagreements about chore procedures. Tedious married people problems that I won’t share unless I can find a way to make them funny and possibly not them. Until then. Puppy.

We've had a busy day. Split the #2 hive. Got the boat ready to go fishing on Friday & Saturday. Opening day at Sun Lakes State park. There are two Lakes, we fish Park Lake. We always limit out, hopefully that will hold true this weekend. Always nice to stock the freezer with trout.

We'll be in town all day tomorrow, so not sure when I'll be online. Excited to pick up the two Honeybee Queen cells.

Have a nice evening and a beautiful day tomorrow!☀️🐝🌻🌸🌺☀️

Oooh! Trout! It is a pain to fish trout up here.

Nice change of pace when one of the kids gets trout.

What makes them hard to fish for? Regulations?

I love trout fishing. My favorite is catching them from a stream. Been fishing for them since I could hold a pole. When my brothers and I were very young, my dad would tie a rope around our waist and hook it to his belt and off we'd go. My brothers and I knew all of the best fishing holes in Catherine Creek. We always stayed there when we were picking cherries. It's near LaGrand, Oregon. Such fun memories fishing and tubing. Miss those boys. 💔

I took my husband there and we made some new memories! 💗
