Worked outside most of the morning. Looked at the temp, it's a very dry 90°F outside. I was melting and had to come inside...lol

Still pretty nice all day here. Windy today, fruit trees will need water tomorrow. I found some apples on 2 trees. Peaches were frosted as were crabapples. The blackberries rallied with a second bloom. Got my roses planted and mulched. Enormous fire ant mound to be dealt with further down in that bed. Hot weather is on the way though.

I thinned our apricots today. Need to do the peaches next. We don't grow apples anymore. Raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and tomatoes are blooming now.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with fire ants.

The wild blackberries are in heavy bloom here but, need rain for decent berries. There's a good batch along a ditch bank. Haven't checked yet to see if there's water that far up beyond the usual runoff. Hoping so. Same with elderberries -- no rain, no berries and they should be blooming about now.

Worked today. Well, everyday this week I will -- tightens up your farm work time. Thankfully, kidding is done. Two look like there's a slight possibility they were bred late -- watching in case there's summer kids coming. One of them, if NOT preggers, will be sold. Praying she is, really nice doe and from a good milker. But not bred & she's 2. Strange. She has had some behaviour changes, not bad ones, so I'd like to keep her but need her working.

Isn't school over soon?

We have about 5 more weeks. We start late and go into the first week of June. And don't take many Holidays off (except for basketball, because priorities) so we can get a longer summer.

Got coffee going, track meet today, but we aren't leaving early for it.
Parents are calving at home. I think I miss it, but I moved too far to be able to visit for a weekend.
I guess I'll go grade some papers this morning, that's always fun to do.

I somehow have gotten the name "man on the mountain" stuck to me when they ask for my services out here, creepy. Power put in to two structures, firebreak created around a house, and prep work for a slab done that is going in this Friday. That's just week one, this guy claims if he was living out here he would be my competition you could double your crew and still couldn't hold a candle to me. Why? Cause my talents don't stop at construction.

Good morning! It's been hot here. I just read an email from weather.com. It said there is a cooling trend coming, I got a little excited, 20° below average drop in temps, rain and maybe snow, except for the PNW, we're going to be 10-20° above average... figures.

Heading to town today. Dump run, Dr (hubs) and some shopping. Got to pick up some garden plants and maybe some new shrubs.
