We really did. It blew hard all night. We get winds like this a few times every year.

Look at it this way, Mother Nature thinned out the trees for you. And you really NEEDED more trees to cut up and burn.

Daughter & sil came down this weekend.
They helped us clean up the pine needles in the chicken coop. I'm hoping that we can run some more fishing line in the free range pen and attach the flash tape to it. My girls are sure missing their pen.
They also helped us pick up and stack the bricks we had around our above ground pool. I'm sure going to miss that this summer. I'm thankful for the time I did have it.

We've had such a busy weekend and accomplished so much. We are so blessed.
Finally strung more fishing line and added reflective tape. I hope it keeps the Hawks out.
The girls were so excited to be back in their free range pen.
I used the little battery powered rototiller that my fil gave to us and worked up the soil in the enclosed pen.

Potted 8 of my tomato starts. 4 Bushsteak and 4 Cherokee Purple. Still have early girls in the AeroGarden, will wait just a little longer before I pot them. I also planted two more tomato varieties. Black Krim and Pineapple. My jalapeños are also starting to come up. Will be nice to not buy expensive plants for my salsa garden. Some of the flowers I planted are also starting to come up.

Well, Gwendolyn one of my Black Sex Link hens was out of the pen today. Same one that was getting out last summer. Her wing was still nicely clipped. Hubs had me go ahead and clip her other one. We'll see how long it takes her to figure it out. She laid her egg in the same place they were laying last year. Rotten little beast.

My tomatoes are really growing. I can't believe how well they're doing. The AeroGarden really gave them a strong start, the stalks are very thick. The Black Krim and Pineapple tomatoes are up and I also planted two different cherry tomatoes on 3.20, after I took out the early girl tomatoes and placed them in cups. Black Cherry, heirloom & Napa Grape, hybrid.

Right before we bought our house I bought the seed starter tray for the aerogarden. Good to know it works so well! They look really healthy.

The tray doesn't fit quite right, even though I thought it was the one for this AeroGarden, it's the only one available, but it fits good enough. The tomatoes are doing really well. A lot of my flower seeds didn't come up, I don't know why.
