Made bread dough, first rise!
1000036908.jpg

Punched down (with crank), divided and placed dough in greased loaf pans for second rise. It didn't rise as high as the first time, but I expected it as I substituted honey for sugar, and 3 cups of rye flour, too.

I have to tinker with recipes, I can't leave them alone!

I finally found SEEDED watermelons at Food Lion, had to get help as the shipping box was too high for me, and all they had left on display were seedless. I'll cut it up after the bread goes in the oven.

Two eggs from the Sussex, and I found one in the second coop! It's on the smaller side, so I think it's from Esther, a Sussex. I don't know what's going on with the Dominiques.

Tamar's wing is still low. I'm debating if I should wrap it to her body. Some people do that.

After the bread came out of the oven I stepped outside and realized it wasn't as hot. So at 7pm I cranked up the mower and tackled the back yard. Just as the sun was setting I finished up, went inside and cooled off with a shower and ice pack on my neck.

Yes, I overdid, but it's supposed to be 99° this week, so I pushed. Woke up after midnight with leg spasms but they calmed down quickly after I rubbed in DMSO. And thanked God for it. I hate it when I stretch out while half asleep, and suddenly my legs are in knots. The DMSO is a blessing.

Today I finished the brooder setup

Anticipated hatch is Monday, and I am working late that day, so once it gets dark I plan to move Naomi and her eggs into the brooder.
