This is my other roo, Zaccheus, with his chicks. Notice the coloring, more of a mahogany on his back. He's not show quality, but has some good points.

Current picture of the chicks. Yes, I kept one cockerel. He'll get along with his daddy, or else. My granddaughters named him Jacob. Claudia is in front, Lois behind Jacob.

While my Speckled Sussex are not show quality, I decided early on to not breed the ones with obvious faults, like yellow shanks, or orange feathers, and I brought in eggs from another person with the breed, to add new DNA.
