I ordered two mouse-inator traps to the local TSC. Hopefully those will do the trick. I think they are supposed to arrive this weekend.

I have way too many types of figs because they are so easy to root. There's a couple places online that sell them for $3 a cutting, some varieties are more. I have 5 baby figs from last year, on top of the 15+ I have from the past few years.Pretty easy to propagate - I just take a cutting and stick it in dirt and water. So far it's worked every time.
I am hoping once we get fencing and pens and shelters up, we can get pigs. Then we can just give all the extra/damaged produce to the pigs instead of throwing it away. Could give it to the chickens too. I am going to try to have mulberry trees growing in/over the chicken pens for shade and the chickens will clean up the dropped fruit. That's a tremendous amount of fruit, once they are a few yrs old...maybe sell a few that are a couple ft high. Around here, the fruits sell for a good price! BUT they ripen fast!!! Over ripen day 3. So sell, process or plan on a lot of bee, wasp, rodent (ground drop). Woohoo, they are tasty.

Mulberry trees are very messy. I had one removed that had grown too big, and fell on top of my old shed.I am hoping once we get fencing and pens and shelters up, we can get pigs. I need to continue with getting the garden in order, once I get it better organized I can start working on growing plants to sell or give away.
They are, but I love my mulberries. Mine are in the back and the chickens do clean up duty. They love them as much as I do. Thye'll stand around while I'm picking and grab the ones I drop. If there are any close to the ground they'll jump up to try and harvest their own.Mulberry trees are very messy.
