When my kids were little, we wrapped presents in white butcher paper. Then I spread newspaper on the floor and we painted them. I had Christmas stencils, we cut sponges into shapes and I had bowls of tempra paint.
I remember Glass Wax, and using stencils to make pictures on the windows!

Are you going to paint packages or what do you have in mind?
Yeah - I'm thinking that would be fun. He could paint the paper or color it or whatever, maybe throw in baking some cookies or just plain making a mess in gramma's kitchen . I've got a year to plan for the first one.

I feel like time is flying but also creeping? I don't know how to explain it. I am overwhelmed and busy with all the things I need to get done and yet almost feel asleep on the couch this afternoon.
Dh told me he'd like to rip apart the mudroom tomorrow and reconfigure where the kids keep their coats, hats, boots, etc. That is so NOT what i want to be doing the day before we leave. I'm hoping he either doesn't need my help or he gets busy with other things tomorrow. Its just not important before we leave.
We had our last practice tonight before the Christmas Cantata performance. We were really draggy on the first song but we did it again and it was much better. I brought my oldest since there is one song the kids join the women with. I had her stand over with the sopranos so my singing alto wouldn't throw her off. She did a great job.

Such a husband idea!

Sometimes they just don’t have any clue that holidays (any holiday) are when we wives and mothers are on triple duty trying to do all the extra stuff required. Sure, they got some time off work, so if they have a project they’ve been wanting to do, it’s pretty much their best opportunity. I get that. But hard NO! 😅
