My ducks started laying today. I got 2 duck eggs and 9 or 10 chicken eggs.

First eggs are so exciting! Little tiny pullet eggs, I call them chicken farts.

My first set of pullets started early Oct. Another group should start up end of this month. It's always fun to watch for those first eggs. Gave my DS, DD & DGD 4 dz between them this week .

Got all 11 chicken eggs today and 1 duck. I wanted to pick the pumpkins but my husband flooded the garden so I have to wait until tomorrow.

I was beginning to wonder if one of my girls was just trying to stay on strike and then I got the 11th egg and I was so happy to know that she stopped protesting. I don't know what she has to protest about they free range all day. Of course she could have been molting but at least she's over it now. I'm also beginning to think that I have 2 drakes again instead of 2 hens and 1 drake.
