It will be nice to have Fen all to myself without Randy (and Boone) distracting him.
It’s hard to tell if he’s forgotten stuff or if he’s repressing it because Boone jumps in the way. He’s been checking in with me and trying to communicate more since I started grooming him and stuff a few weeks ago.
I miss Heath so much its killing me. Having a dog that’s all mine, to do everything with is so important to me, really it doesn’t seem like too much to ask for but I feel like this dirt road is another door slammed in my face. It should be Boone going with me.
But I will have this week with Fen, to get closer with him again.
Today is recovery from going to town yesterday. Tomorrow I will pack everything for our trip and leave early Thurs morning.

Here’s what it looked like coming home yesterday. We. Are. Remote.

Reminds me of my trip to north-central Montana...it was nothing but miles of prairie with a few rocky outcroppings. And pronghorns.

I remember driving thru out west -- looked like that for miles & miles. They had wind socks along the roads so drivers could see the issues when traveling. Some winds could turn a tractor trailer over! With no trees or grass, you had no warning. Barren as far as you could see.

Imagine the pioneers in wagons 🤪😳

Definitely isolated! And while visions of lush green hills and mountains dance in one's head - that's not always the case. Looks very sagey.
Its pretty much sagebrush and mesquite which is ugly nasty stuff! A lot of the land on the deeded ranch has been cleared so there’s good grass back there but anything BLM they won’t let you improve it

Fen is having a great time! Even after the long drive, he ate and drank with no problems.
This morning we got up at 5:30, went for a long walk, and sniffy-peefari, and after everyone else got up, he got to play with Ruby’s stuffies and he was like a puppy, tossing them, catching them, pouncing and wagging his tail.
I don’t know when the last time he did that was. Not sure what has made him so giddy but I am gonna guess it’s being the center of attention and no Boonedoggo to rain on his parade.

Fen is enjoying his vacation.
