Boone has been playing with Gizmo the past 3 days. He’s learning restraint when she jumps on him and wants to wrestle. She’s tiny and he could easily hurt her by accident. He’s so, so patient and sweet. He has to gather his antlers and bones and lay on top of them so she doesn’t kipe any.

Eventually she manages to sneak one out from under him or steal it when he gets up and they spend some time gnawing. She needs it as she has the worst tartar I ever saw.

She spends a lot of time on my lap, or at my side and shadows me everywhere. It’s great therapy for me. ❤️

She’s just learning basic obedience and Boone looks forward to her training sessions as he knows it all and he earns easy snackies.

I got a new dremel that is much quieter and actually almost have booth of Boones back feet done. The fronts he’s more ticklish with but we WILL get it done. She won’t have anything to do with someone touching her feet and it’s too early in our relationship to push it. Its been really good for both of us to have her here. I am definitely her person. She chose me as definitely as Fen chose Randy. She’s healing places in my heart that have been broken for a long time.

So happy for you! Maybe this will help with the loneliness you feel out there in nowhere land. Boone still loves you....please keep him near & trained, used for stability.
Absolutely! Boone doesn’t have 2nd place in my heart. He knows how to do all the things I need from him as a Service Dog. He just can’t travel. He’s not an adult yet, either, so he still has some of his puppy ways. We have our routines down pretty pat. Because she’s so tiny I use low-cal training treats and she never gets a cookie without him also getting a cookie. She gets her crate time and we get our Boone time. I don’t plan to task train her at this time as it’s not necessary and I think it will be a long time before she’s receptive to it.
So far, she’s been mostly a plus for him because they play together a LOT.

He doesn’t have the jealousy of her that he does of Fen. He allows her in my lap, and on the bed. He doesn’t tolerate that from Fen. There is SOME competition though, as he now steals my chair and sits on my lap!! 😂
I wanted a lap dog…now I have 2!
