We must be on the same wavelength waffles here this morning as well.
Mixed up some sourdough and an experiment - I've often wondered if I could use the fast rise instant yeast and get a loaf of 'regular' bread. So I mixed up a second loaf adjusting water and flour for what would've been starter. Both are now sitting in the bowl waiting for the first stretch and fold. Nothing like experimenting! If it doesn't turn out the chickens will get the 'door stop'!
Keeping my fingers crossed that Tom works out for helping around - don't want to hold my breath but I will cross my fingers. You sure need a little help around there.

How’d the bread experiment turn out? It’s 6:00 and no Tom. I called Randy to check on him. If his back is really hurt we need to take him dinner and maybe ice or something for inflammation. He has my DMSO so that should help. It’s his brother so he needs to look after him.
I’ve been down all day with pain and fatigue. I did get the dishwasher emptied and washed and put away all the dishes in the sink but I’m afraid I slept most of the day. Poor Randy seems to be stuck doing all the heavy lifting for two of us

Randy got Tom up a 7:30 this morning. He helped me breed rabbits as I have to step up on a brick and pick up my doe. It’s too easy to fall so he kept me safe while Murphy did his duty. Then he cleaned up all the dead hollyhock stems while I picked up Boone’s lawn mines. Randy’s got him helping him to feed so he can cover for us when we go to town and when Randy has his surgery.
I have to figure which dog to work when we go to town tomorrow…

Off to town again. We are low on animal feed. I had originally decided to leave Boone home with Tom as he had to take that 12 hr drive last week but the morning he didn’t want to be separated from me. It broke my heart to leave him and hopefully I don’t need him tasking for me as Fen is often reluctant and Randy can’t pick things up off the ground should I drop them. Who would have guessed an Anatolian would task more reliably than a sheppie?
Apparently Fen’s relative didn’t get pregnant after all and Mary won’t be breeding again for a year so I’m a little heartbroken about not getting my own English Shepherd. I know it’s probably for the best, to let Boone mature before getting another dog but tell my heart that.
Other than missing Boone, it will be nice to spend time with Fen as I never get to see him since he goes off with Randy every day. He’s such a cute doggo and has so much personality. It’s too bad he bonded to Randy but then I’d really prefer a sable. I don’t know what I would do without these two. Horses have always been my passion but dogs have saved my life more than once. Next to salvation, they’re God’s greatest gift.
