Day afters are ALWAYS rough but today is just plain brutal after being stuffed into the backseat, trying to comfort Boone through his terrors. I am a mass of bruises after he stepped all over me in his panic. I never want to see him go through that again. I’m laying here crying because he was always so joyful as my Service Dog. He loved meeting people and going new places and I could always depend on him, not just to keep me upright but for anything I needed from him. I’m going to miss him being beside me when I have no choice but to leave the ranch for groceries or medical reasons
There's got to be a way around this. He has too many great talents & you've both come so far.
I wonder if something like a thunder shirt could help? .... & if they even come in pony size?

Don't know about the drugs for dogs... BUT... our vet can put a bull on the ground with Rompum.... and work on it's feet... and use a counter to get him back up in 15-20 minutes...or it takes about an hour to get up without the reverse shot.... Could something like that work for him... We used to use Rompum in the parlor on some very "stupid crazy" heifers at one farm... some thing like 1/4 cc in the milk vein... they would just chill... almost like "la-la" land....never went down or anything.... get them milked and they could still walk to go out the parlor... 15 min and they were back to normal..... seems like there ought to be something that you could give him , that would just stretch him out, and wear off in a half hour or so...

We picked up some sedative for him to get him into the vet. I just have to figure out when to make an appointment as he needs 2 the night before and 1 an hour before we leave.

I took Fen with me, and aside from a little confusion because Randy was there again, he did well. He definitely needs a tune up, having spent so much time with the talented untrainer, but I don’t think it will take him long to get back on track for PA.

He’s been very attentive and things he used to complain about he now does happily. The time off didn’t hurt him any.

Boone gave me what for when we got back home. A thousand woo wooos directly at me. Total guilt trip. Good things my bags were still packed!

Making sourdough with 50% hard white. Hope it comes out. The lid wasn’t tight on my mill so I have flour all over my feet.

I’m wanted to make a blanket for Tessa and Matt’s baby but my hands and wrists are sore so I bought an electric yarn winder. Pretty cool! Not fast, but it doesn’t hurt me :weee
