I deleted my post. He lived through the night so I didn't kll him. I guess that means I will forgive him his ill advised remark about needing to "pull my weight".

To go back to the other stuff that happened yesterday, the rental tractor arrived. I took DH to the doctor about the incision that kept opening. The doctor took a culture and put him on antibiotics for a month. He has to go back in 2 weeks to see if it starts to close up. If it opens up more the surgeon will open it up again, remove the edges of the skin that has healed and restitch him.

We got home and I collected the painting equipment from the shed for painting the Conex. DS1 started painting the reflective cooling glop on it. DH started mowing. On y way out to help DS1 with teh paintng I heard a crashing noise nd looked over to see DH near the electric fence. He hit a post and the wires snapped. I yelled at him (which he couldn't hear) and he continued to drive off on the tractor. I ran out to check the fence. At least 3 wires snapped. I called for DS1 who tod e to turn off the charger and came over to see what was wrong. I told him that DH had broken the electric fence. Much bad language and name calling of DH ensued from both of us. I He waited to catch DH on his lap around the field. Apparently, there was a bush that DH wanted to pull out instead of mowing down so he backed the tractor and mower to go around it. He hit a PVC post and broke it a wel as snapping the wires. More name calling and DS1 checked the mower and tractor for damage. Tractor and mower were fine, DH startd mowing again, and DH went to get his tools to repair the fence. I took over painting the Conex.

2+ hours later DS1 had replaced the PVC post that DH had broken, spliced the wires, and tightened them. He said it was lucky that he used high tensile wire since it stretched and he didn't have to splice any extra pieces of wire in. He turned on the fence. Then he checked and tightened the other fence. At least we had moved the ewes and ram out of that pasture so the two flocks didn't mingle. After spending some time searching for the painter's benches to stand on to reach the top, I had finished putting a second coat on one side of the Conex, painted one end, and most of the other side. As I was finishing the last quarter standing on the painter's benches I started getting dizzy. Holding on to the rake I was using to help me climb onto the benches, I managed to get down and sit. About then DS1 came back and finished the job. We decided to stop since it was about 6pm. We cleaned up the tools, and DS1 went to get the tools he had used on the fence and put them away. DH was finishing the second pasture.

I came in and did a load of towels and put the sheets in the drier. Then I started supper. DH came in to take a shower, He yelled at me to bring him a towel. They were in the bathroom linen closet. Then he sat in his recliner and moaned about how tired he was. I served DH and DS1 supper while I made the bed with the clean sheets while they were eating. I moved the towels to the drier, then I cleaned the sink, did the dishes and put the leftovers away. I finally went to take a shower.

DH was yelling for me to come and watch Big Bang. A couple weeks ago we started watching Young Sheldon episodes. I had not seen most of the episodes because I had been packing and unpacking for the past several years. We watched the entire 7 seasons of YS, then started Big Bang from the beginning. I watched a couple episodes then got myself a small dish of ice cream. I did not bring any for DH. Usually I bring our daily dishes of ice cream while watching our programs at night but I was still very upset with him about that "pulling my own weight" remark from the morning.

Today I have to go grocery shopping at Brookshires. They have Blue Bell on sale for half price and DS1 wants to come along to get sodas on sale. We'll pick up DH's prescriptions at the same time.

Last Monday we emptied the large freezer and moved it from the back porch where it gets full sun in the afternoon into the carport where it is in full shade. Still outside but it is a garage freezer with extra insulation and shielding, supposedly. I laid a large moving pad on the carpet and we carried the baskets of food in and placed them on it. I covered the pile of food with a blanket to hold in the cold. DS1 hosed the freezer out and moved it over to the carport. We had Brian put an electric outlet in the carport for it a week ago. DS1 plugged it in and I sorted through the frozen food inside. There were two containers of Blue Bell in the bottom that had melted when Annabel climbed behind the freezer and unplugged it for 2 days. They had melted onto a lot of the packages of food. Those all had to be washed off and dried before replacing them. I put the dviders back in the bottom of the freezer and started lugging the stuff back to the freezer. We found 2 turkeys, 2 whole hams, a pork shoulder, 2 small rib roasts, four 7 lb. briskets, and some other large cuts that all went in the bottom. DH helped carry the 25 lb. turkeys. On top of the motor shelf I put the goat milk and colostrum. Once the bottom layer was in I put in the lower baskets and filled them. 96 chicken enchiladas packed 6 in a bag, bags of assorted nuts and candied fruits for baking, small meat cuts, etc. Only one packge of meat showed any freezer burn. I will trim that off today and if the meat isn't good, the dogs will have 2 days of feasting. Finally I put the upper baskets in and sorted the rest of the food into those. One nice thing about emptying the freezer completely and moving it was that I was able to sort the different categories of food into the same baskets. I also cleaned and emptied the fridge freezer, sorted and repacked it. Good news! - don't need any more frozen meat and now have plenty of room for Blue Bell! LOL In the carport the freezer is shaded, Annabel can't unplug it, and instead of going through the living room to get frozen food I go out the kitchen door. :D =D

DS1 is looking at buying a hand held power auger now. He wants to put in the shelters for the sheep as soon as he finishes two more pastures. They need to go in before winter for the rain. He also said that the tractor auger makes too wide a hole and he has to back fill too much. With a smaller diameter auger bit he can just drop the post in on top of the gravel and back fill with the concrete.

I'd make him get his own ice cream too...lol

It's amazing what it takes to keep a place going. It's never ending!

That takes me back to turning BJ loose on the tractor, snagging the expensive fence, tearing a large hole, bending the T-post and making more unnecessary work for me. Or backing trailer through a gate, WINDOWS UP and the RADIO BLARING, while I’m wasting my breath yelling for him to stop. Too late! CRACK! BJ getting out to see why the truck stopped backing up and finding me purple with rage and a broken off gatepost.

I still want to knock him in the head and tell God he died. But he’s safe from me now. I’m sure he and God are having the last laugh. Just wait ‘till I get there!

@Baymule - you always make me feel better! :hugs

All husbands do and say stupid things and then don't understand why their wives are upset. I have to keep reminding myself that he is suffering from advanced testerone poisoning. Testosterone poisoning is terminal but he won't be receiving euthanasia from me this time. Just :rantand wishful :smack.

He seems to realize today that he really did something out of line since he brought me coffee this morning while I was on the computer and then came in with the pot to refill it.

:caf On my way to forgiving him.

Big thunderstorm rolled in last evening. Supposed to get rain which we need badly BUT it must have just blown through. Overcast today so still hoping for some rain. DH got a lot mowed yesterday, and today we play bridge so perfect day for a deluge.

DS1 is heading for Harbor Freight today to pick up a hand held motorized augur with a smaller diameter augur. On sale till Monday, and with the 30" extension still comes in under $200. It will be good for places where the tractor can't go. Also since DH broke something in the shifting lever (again) our tractor is out of commission. DS1 said that it could be towed to where we want to drill with the augur and then run the augur but . . . .

With the goat weed mowed I walked the pastures and they are almost overgrazed. We need to move the sheep off them and continue fencing more pastures to rotate them through. I told DS1 that we need to ut the hay fork on the rental tractor and move the old hay into the overgrazed fields and roll them out for the winter like the extension guy said. John said we can reseed the pastures wth clover and pasture mix right over the hay. We need to reseed in October.

You have East Texas Seed Company right there in Tyler. You can just go pick up the seed you want. Call ahead to make sure it is in stock. Plus you can talk to someone who lives here, local, and knows what works best for our area.

BJ loved crimson clover and we sowed the seed on the sides of our driveway and along the road in front of our farm in Lindale. We bought seed in Tyler. Plus white ball clover, giant Bermuda, chicory, other grasses and forbs.

Overcast and cloudy for past 2 days but no rain. :(

DH went out to mow Friday afternoon and the rental mower quit. :barnie DS1 called and got a recording saying that the company was closed and would not open until Monday. There was an emergency number so he called them and left a message. The company finally called back last night and he talked to them about the problem. Naturally, this is a 3 day holiday weekend. DS1 described what was going on and what was damaged and they said they would try to get out tody to fix it. Apparently the mower was returned needing some repairs and maintenance but they didn't do it before bringing it to us. We have lost a day anda half of use so DS1 will make sure that we get and extended time on the rental. DS1 and I decided that when we get a new tractor, it is upin the air whether ornot DH will be allowed to drive it.

DS1 is planning on taking a welding class. I suggested he also take a class on tractor repair and maintenance. DGS3 is heading into high school and taking a welding class. he has to join FFA to do so which makes me hopeful he will be able to take an animal to their Fair. DDIL1 said she is trying to get their rabbits bred but they seem to have taken a vow of chastity. She apparently has the first celibate rabbits in history! It is a shame because they are beautiful Californians and we hoped to get some from her or her breeder when we start up our rabbitry.

DS1 and I moved a bunch of stuff from all the rooms to the Conexes. It cleared out the front entry again. :D =D Brian still has to come over with his big tractor and move the first Conex into position by a foot at one end, and the other Conex into position by several feet. Once the first one is in place I will put the shelving together and the stuff we moved out there can go on shelves. A lot of stuff in the various closets can be packed into the Conex as well One Conex gets shade all day, while the other one gets shade until late afternoon. We will use the one that gets more sun to store our metal and heat resistant items. DH was planning to roof over the Conexes for his rabbitry but DS1 is thinking about roofing over the space between the tool shed and the first Conex for the rabbitry and use the second roofed area for a tractor shed. Not sure how that will work for the rabbits since we were planning on installing a window unit AC in the tool shed so we could work in there in summer, and we sure don't want it blasting heat into the rabbitry. We can't wait to move all our stuff from the house and tool shed into the Conexes! I will have closets and cabinets free again.

I have been checking on the wallpaper removal in the master bedroom and it is so tight to the walls that I think it would damage the underlying drywall to remove it. I took a small area off in the corner behind the door and it is taking off the drywal paper too. I have seen that in older houses where the wallpaper was glued onto the walls without priming and painting the walls first. Instead of removing the wallpaper, I will prime the walls over the wallpaper and then just paint. Lots less work for me since I won't have to repair the walls or do a week of paper removal. I am considering eventually drywalling over the narrow window into the carport. It was put in for escape from fire since the large windows are 6' wide x 3' tall. Mr. McDonald had lost a foot in WWII. Ms Joyce was terrified of fire. I plan on moving the bed under the windows so could easily access the windows to get out. The narrow window makes furniture placement awkward since the room is small for a master and we have a king bed. Also since t opens to the carport we never open the blinds. The freezer is under it now in the carport too. Will see what happens after I paint and rearrange the furniture. :fl

DS1 got the hand held augur. DSIL2 is coming home today so this weekend he and DD2 are planning to come for a visit. DS1 says he will get DSIL2 to help drill the holes and set the gate posts and H braces for the new pasture fences. Once we get another pasture we can move the sheep and turn the horses into the first pasture. There is plenty of Bahia left but the sheep keep grazing the Bermuda they prefer. That pasture will need time to recover. The hores will take off the top of the older grass, the sheep graze much closer.
