I was wrong
First one hatched yesterday. 3 more today so far and plenty of pips

One is zipped, but broke through the shell quite a lot, so might be stuck. If he’s still in the same position tonight and there aren’t any others busy pipping and zipping, I’ll help him out.
I don’t open the incubator if I can see any pips or zips since the sudden relatively cold and dry influx of air can dry them out and I’ll have only maybe saved one just to put all the others at risk.
Hopefully he manages on his own…

I've made a habit of changing Eva's routine constantly since she was little. Although the reason behind it is my boredom, it's been a great training tool. She is RARELY flustered over anything.

Yeah a single. But 5 goats a milking, 30 feeding, and they become insistent on their order in line! mine come to their name and actually wait their turn pretty well -- almost like Disney world, don't break in line ! Nice becomes pushy and loud.

Mainly, they don't want to miss their feeding. . If I walk off before finish, they actually hollar at me! Yoo-hoo...mine??

Many, many years ago I worked at a state park's riding stable. Every now and then during the peak season, we'd have up to 30 horses on a single trailride and we had to memorize what order they could go in so that they would behave.
Oddly, I can STILL remember some of the important combinations!!!!
Lead rider, JoJo, Special, ..little bay pony with a white streak in her mane, Scottie, Ginger, Burgandy, BJ, Smokey Jo, fill space with those that got along with everyone then the Cannon Ball Crew, Blackjack, Shawn, Midnight and Ike and NEVER EVER put ANYONE behind Chief.

The girls are due on Sunday… I think they’ve got a few more days to go, anyway.

I’m getting so antsy about it now Of course, that could be because my hatch is done
I have decided that my hatching incubator needs to be replaced. I got it used and I’ve had it for several years. I’ve always had good hatches in it, but this time I had quite a few get shrink wrapped…I helped 4 and we’ll see how they do. With them, my hatch was 18/28…1/4 Silkie and 17/24 Sebright.

I left the 4 helped chicks in the incubator and will get them out tomorrow.

Looking at udders again…shocking, I know What’s interesting is that I took the pic on the left today. The one on the right was from last year 2 days before Foxy lambed.
I’m kind of shocked at the udder size difference (wider, goes higher, is protruding more) and it’s also making me think she’s going to lamb in two days or so…hopefully

I keep thinking they’re due Sunday, but their actual due date is Saturday. Day 147 would be Monday, so I guess the lambing calendar I looked at is based on 145 days.
Now that I have the marking harness, I can actually pay attention to what day they lamb based on when they’re marked…see if they’re consistent in the future or not.

Coy’s udder looks about the same as it did yesterday. It also feels pretty tight. She’s been doing some heavy breathing off and on the last few days. Not like she’s sick breathing, but just like she’s too big for her lungs, if that makes sense.
I’ll be watching her closely tonight and tomorrow. She’s a blimp—looks even bigger than Foxy! She’s also a smaller, more compact ewe, so it’s probably normal for her. I don’t remember her doing the same thing last year. If anything, Foxy was the one heavy breathing last year…hmm…we’re also expecting a bit of a storm tomorrow, so…there’s that

Ewes will make you crazy! She will lamb when she’s ready and leave you on pins and needles. LOL

Makes perfect sense. Late pregnancy and it's pretty tight in there -- everything squishing everything else. . Bet she's hoping to kid soon, too -- wooeee the relief.

Big snowstorm last night and all the girls can do is look at me with their ewe code and laugh…jerk sheep

So big and uncomfortable looking. She’s got a nice little nest she’s building…any day now! They’re officially full term.

What are EWE looking at…

Since Doll is semi-alone at the moment, she’s being exposed to Katana quite a bit. Katana has been very good and doesn’t try to harass her. Or the chickens since I let her come into their pen with me now too.


DS is wonderful and loves the animals. He gives the sheep and chicks kisses and is OBSESSED with eggs. He’s allowed to collect them for me, but he’s not allowed to hold onto them long term lest he find it hilarious to smash them.

Fat pregnant ewes! They look warm and healthy.

My granddaughters loved gathering eggs too. As toddlers, they sometimes tapped them together, like clapping their hands, with gooshy results!
