When we first moved here, it was quit common for kids to come and go from school according to calving, horses on the road and all the stuff that goes with farm life! I doubt that happens anymore!
I'm kinda lucky the boys boss grew up in this area, if I need the boy, his boss lets me have him!

But, times have changed. Even in a small community like ours, they have lost sight of the farming way of life.

Yes, they were both shown successfully.
They were Medal and Medalian-- or Med and Dali as they came to be known. She sold Med to help finance her Europe trip junior year and Dali died shortly after calving.
After all, isn't that what 4H cows do... die?

the kids around here used to grad school an come home to the dairy.i know thats what i did.an i always put the dairy 1st till the day we sold out.an i still put the cattle 1st.

i think those days are over. school seems to be all about how much money you can make. not what you learn and need for life. i feel for my grandkids and friends kids.
