Took the day off yesterday since my injection pump came in for the excavator and sure enough I wasn't the crazy one who thought I was doing all wrong. Pump was missing parts and the settings were so low it was impossible to open any injectors. Also the injectors I bought are air locked from the injection pump being built wrong so in total damage after 3 rebuilds and 8 injectors we are $10k in the hole in damages and that doesn't include lost contracts all cause of a neighbor.
Going to see if I can get it all bolted in today with new injectors and fire it up. When this machine moves the neighbors move and do stupid schit, as the saying goes; play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Sheriff won't be involved and I'm not standing down.

Do ya'll do controlled burns up that way?

Controlled burns, if done at all, are done by CDF / Cal Fire only. We can get burn permits, but those are only for burn piles.
And yeah - these fires seem to break out in clusters at the same time (within minutes of each other) on days of predicted "wind events" - high probability of arson. A lot of other fires start on cold nights - hmmm - and in areas of homeless encampments.
