Something is terribly wrong with me. I’m 70 years old and don’t have any friends I can visit. What a waste of a life!
There are days.... sometimes 2 or 3 at a time where the only words I'll speak are to my cats. They never speak back.
Your life could never be a waste. You are too amazing. You have accomplished so much. You have impacted so many other lives... including all of us here. Who.... for the most part have never & will never meet, let alone visit.

Can you give sourdough lessons? Stained glass lessons? Sewing, gardening, preserving, elder horse care, or whatever lessons?? Paying or not that gives you people to interact with. There are weeks I don't leave the ranch - but my detection students come here - and in many cases there's a little chatting that happens. Would be more if it was just one on one and not a full day of lessons.
I live 4 hr from nearest town. No one will come here for anything. It’s one of the reasons I hate this ranch so much is the complete and total isolation.

You obviously have internet at home. Folks these days often don't want to go somewhere to try a class. They want to watch a video. I know that the first thing I do if I need to learn something is Google it & watch a few videos.
Could you make a couple of videos about your stained glass making? Or even funny ones with Boone? They don't have to be long. Or even 'documentary-like'. I know there are people who post videos about their pets that I follow & interact with almost daily. Some of them are less than a minute long. But it would let you feel a part of something (you already are! but maybe you want a new challenge?)

Go to town & visit stores. Heck, if I didn't work, I'd sure be limited for socialization! Sometimes I just chat with customers for a few minutes 😁. Some I see occasionally -- they visit store for just that, to socialize!! -- others it's a one time thing. So, once a week, you go to town for just visiting. 👍. The gas is less $ than a therapy session! It's one reason I may never quit working -- people contact. It's a long drive, yes. So what?
I go to the farmers' market almost every Saturday. It's more for socializing than food.

Is moving in with/living closer to Chelsea an option?
Hopefully you don't mind me chiming in. I found Boone's thread and read the whole thing and loved it to pieces. Then I read this one. And no, I don't have too much time on my hands... I read in my spare time. Took me several weeks!

I wish one of rhe kids had room & was willing to have us. My son would probably let me stay with him but he’s pretty remote as well, and rarely home as he’s a hunting guide. I’ve looked for options for the 17 yr I’ve been here. I made bad decisions mortgaging my home to help the kids. There’s no going back now. I’m stuck here.
Good news is a lady I trained a horse for contacted me and invited me to visit. Its only a 9 hr drive so I will spend a week there and get off the ranch for a little bit anyway

That might just be the respite you need.
