The figs are ripening, need to figure out what I'm going to make with them. Some of the tomatoes are getting ripe too.
I used to pickle figs for my grandmother and mother. They loved them. I love to eat them fresh. Sadly all 15 of my fruit trees died the second year. :hit Main reason I would like to buy the overpriced property next door - there is an old barn and shed needing repairs, and MATURE FRUIT TREES. I lust after those trees.

Today's haul! I think the zucchini should have been picked a few days ago...

Started putting the cucumber plants on the trellis, stopped as soon as I saw this guy. Scared the crude out of me. I definitely almost put my hand on it.

She's a GOOD spider! This year my yard is covered with "writing spider" webs, not just side-by-side, but stacked on top of each other, too. I almost put my hand on one this afternoon, startled myself.

I told her she can eat the bugs, and we can pretend each other doesn't exist, and we should be ok. I hope she agrees.

Its soooooo pretty!

I'm raising a spider in my bathroom. It was the size of the pin head when I first saw it three weeks ago. I catch a small fly for it every so often. Its body is now the size of 4 pin heads. When it gets too big, I'll capture it and relocate it. But I do like watching it grow. Weird, I know.
