Coffee anyone ?

Back from the detection study and sipping cappuccino so Halo can have the foam. Pretty cool study - measuring the volume, speed, etc of inhale and exhale on different scents. Fascinating in a geeky way I love.
DH fed and let sheep out since I left when it was barely light out.
After yesterday's coyote serenade and target visitor I opted for letting them stay in the barn until 8 or so.

ALL DAY rain. Not downpour, the kind we'd love if it was late June and our garden was in.. Still mid 40s+ and could be worse. I'll buckle down and do inside stuff...laundry, cleaning

I’ve been up, had a shower, sprayed my hair with Asorbine Show Sheen-I don’t know if my poor horse is ever going to even see the bottle! But after a week of being gone, her mane is tangled, so I might share it this afternoon.

I’ve been catching up on posts, got to get outside and do chores, then get ready for church. Winter does have its advantages, I can slip Carharts over my sweat pants and hoodie over BJ’s big T-shirt.

Difficult sheep day yesterday. Ewe delivered a lamb then prolapsed rectum and intestines and died. An old ewe. Lamb very frail but took bottle then also died. As I was walking out the door to do lord only knows, another ewe drops a lamb and immediately hates it (first time mom). No amount of coaxing convinced her to accept it so in it comes. It spent the night alternately baaing and thumping around the horse bunk/lamb guest room like Herman Munster. Acts like it’s a month old and not newborn. So long Sleep…

Oh, no! These are the days we hate! but they happen. I'm so sorry. At least the unwanted lamb is good.

It hurts to lose a ewe. It hurts to lose a lamb. You got a double whammy. I’m so sorry. Now you have a bottle baby to keep you busy.

Awful losing a ewe and lamb. Been there, done that. Probably delayed birth due to prolapse caused problems for lamb. At least the other ewe left you with a healthy lamb. Is it a ewe or ram? Hope you can save it. Crazy how these ewes will decide they hate their lambs. Post partum depression?
