Coffee anyone ?

Vasey- I’ll have to look for that in the pasture. I have broomsedge I’m not fond of. We got better hay this year, sheep grazing and a couple of timely mows helped. I think one of my neighbors sniffed at the state of our pastures early on. Still have a lot of croton (one of the infamous goatweed tribe).

Spent the first half of yesterday (Monday) taking a friend to get cataract surgery, waiting, then shuttling him home. It's been raining since yesterday morning, so after lunch I did some indoor stuff I've been putting off. I really want to get the new curtains hung, but I need a second set of hands. Now that DS is feeling better I told him a tentative work day is scheduled on Saturday.

No mowing, obviously, until rain stops. I have one raised bed cleaned out and prepared for fall planting, can do so in between downpours. Picked up some collards and cabbage starts, but the bed they need to be planted in isn't ready, it needs some repair.

The cedar wood rotted on the ends, go figure. I'll move the dirt and shore it up, need to think about ways to reinforce it.

One other bed did the same thing, ends rotted, but the other three are fine.

Drive some rods in the ground or pipe, heck if you can drive tee posts, use those right up against it.

Going to be 100°F today, yep cooking. Run the excavator till about 1400 hrs then head home and tinker with stuff around the house. Nice to be running my own business, I believe I have tossed the wrench in of turning wrenches where I use to. I'm burnt out and tired from doing it, going on two weeks since I was last there.

Landscaping blocks...
Placed inside the bed?

Concrete "cinder" blocks aren't terribly expensive. The 4x8x16 solid are about .30 less than the 8x8x16 cored types.

If I rebuild my beds using blocks it will cost about $80 per bed.
