@Weldman with all those fires you're looking like Cali. Out here LA county lets them get out of control, San Diego county got their act together after the '07 fire that burned from the mountains to the coast. They pretty much throw everything they've got as soon as one starts. They'd rather cancel the airtankers than call them in too late. Add in SDG&E stepped up to the plate as well (after '07) replacing wood poles with metal, cameras all over the county - it's a huge county (the size of Connecticut) - pretty much the entire county is watched for fire. It turned into serious business after the big fire. Riverside county is not as good as San Diego - but they are far better than LA.
Hope those fires by you get under control soon.

Went out to dinner last night - a wine dinner. Cozy and small. Sat at the table with the shop owner and the wine rep. Got to talking and the rep suggested them doing a dinner with our lamb! Now that would be fun. Separate from that she's actually going to come out on Monday as I told her we had baby lambs. That should be fun. Ya' just never know where things go.

You guys with feet issues....were you ever barefoot people? I always was when younger. Now I'm still usually barefoot inside and I have solid wood floors in much of my house. Outside, I'm usually in some kind of footwear -- you never know what's under foot in a barnyard  But I've never worked where concrete floors were half of my walking day🤷 Feet, alignment & balance are critical for joint & muscle health from soles to waist.

I slept late, like really late! Needed the rest, got it. This is probably going to be a home day 🙂 Yep, I'm not wanting the grind of a job today. My coffee is mid morning today, still wonderfully awakening! Chores are late, too. Thankful for pastures to keep everyone busy while I took advantage of my bed. Time to get going.

I spent ten years on concrete, 8 hours a day 4-6 days a week. I ruined my feet. One of them at least has forgiven me. If you need certain shoes (peers owlishly at cheap Walmart sneakers) get them. Don’t talk yourself out of it.

Didn't go barefoot. My mom frowned on it, and every time I tried it despite her objections I wound up with an injury. I gave up.

And I worked in grocery stores, restaurants, for years. I bought good shoes but the concrete might have caused longterm issues.

I worked on concrete for years... Waitressing, milking cows, and now as a milk tester... It is ROUGH on your feet and your legs/knees/hips.... all joints.
I went barefoot alot as a kid... I think it was good for me... and lots of time barefoot around the horse and the chickens... Milked at one farm barefoot in the summer... yep, out in cow "STUFF" and all back and forth to get cows in....
I wear shoes alot now, partly due to having to go to the barn in a hurry sometimes... and after the ankle replacement, and then the knees, I have different sensations and my feet/nerves sometimes are super sensitive to even walking on wood floors....it's weird... but I do try to walk barefoot in the house when possible... even if I feel the difference in pressure between the floor and the throw rug... I actually feel pain if I step on the shoelace of my sneaker, flat on the floor...just the wrong way... :he:he:he:barnie:idunno:idunno
Think of the old fairy tale.... The Princess and the Pea..... I am super sensitive to the different pressures under my feet. And this from one that was used to being barefoot 50% of my life growing up and into adulthood.

I've been a Princess and the Pea with my feet all my life, even with ceramic tile. I wear Dr Scholls around the house, THE most comfortable shoes for me. My legs/feet don't hurt when I am home for the weekend, unless I overdo with the mowing, hmmm?

Couldn't keep my eyes open last night, went to bed about 9:30, so of course I was awake at 4am  . Going to take the day off from work, need a mental as well as physical break. DS starts his first day back in college today (Construction!) and his car is in the shop, I think it's terminal.
:he:barnie.

I plan to do some trimming as soon as it's light enough, grass is too wet to mow.
