61 this morning, heavy clouds overhead. According to my inner sense it will rain today. Ap and media claim that as well . since I mentioned ?last week? that I should clean out and organize the pantry I've been doing it a shelf at a time and not the day long effort it would be to do it all at one time. AND -- the pantry is looking WAY better with just abank of shelves to go. Divide and conquer!!
I'll take some of the cold you all are getting -it would even out by the time it gets here and put us in the normal range. I'd really like to wear a sweater or sweatshirt! :hide:lol:

Morning all! Been awake about an hour, finally decided to get up. As I roll out of bed and stand up, hubs starts moving around and finally says, are you still there? It's dark and he can't see me. No way I'm getting back into bed, my body aches, told him I needed to get up and he should try to get more sleep.

Currently 27°, still pretty dark out there. Supposed to hit 39° today. Hubs said the bees were very busy yesterday, think it was in the low 40's. Not much happening today, just a little tidying, if I feel up to it. I'm slowly getting my strength back, but yesterday was rough again. Hubs golfs on Wednesday's, he said yesterday that he'd stay home with me, I told him to go ahead and play. He enjoys it and it makes his body feel better. If he was home he'd be working on the bathroom, but thats become a longer project, as we have to wait the 5-6 weeks for the shower pan. We can slowly work on it now, instead of killing ourselves trying to get it done as quickly as possible. We're still working on designing the new storage in the bathroom and the built in dresser for our bedroom. They will both be in the space from our old shower, back to back.

We were supposed to go to a New Year's Eve party, but since I'm still coughing and sniffling, decided it's best to stay home. That's what we've done for most of our 44 years together anyway. 💞 Anybody else have any wild and crazy plans to bring in the New Year?

I'm in a sweatshirt, sitting on the couch under a heated throw... I'm ready for shorts and T-shirts...but I am pretty cozy right now...😁

Chai tea hot this morning. Forecast was off and we have a robust frost. Maremmas barked all night. Fireworks in nearby townlet.
More tonight. Crockett rest his soul really hated fireworks and gunfire. It was a given he would be inside for the holidays. I’d usually make a place for him in the biggest closet. The Maremmas seem pretty chill but I’ll be up to check on them and the ewes. Had a delightful walk fetching Blind Hazel in from the furthest reaches. She’ll follow then reverse course for a wide circle then stop abruptly and give me the stink eye. I got up the hill to find she was no where in sight. Just as well as I was discussing her family tree in not so polite terms. We get back to the barn and she butts me to show her appreciation. Ah. Sheep.

My, my....Sun is out bright & we've warmed to freezing 😁🥶 I left early & went for a load of hay, which I helped load. Came home & unloaded into trailer (20-55#rs) Then fed, broke ice, bucketed some water from one tub to another -- gonna add another tub in that field! -- placed hay bales for tonight's rack fills. Ain't farm life fun??? love my insulated farmer onesies. Got 2 hats & more gloves to find.

Now it's time for that 2nd cup. In an hr or so, I'll get back out there. Always things that need doing.

@RR: Oh my gosh, I wish I could drive down to northern CA and accompany you on your next trip. I'm a good driver. I used to drive the Ram 3500 and a 34ft 5th wheel. I could back it up too. It would be much easier for you to have a co driver.
I wish I had a co pilot for sure. I'm getting too old for this nonsense. 😂 Next trip I hope to not be in such a rush. No one should be waiting on me. Also have a few tweaks to my truck for comfort.
