Busy days lately. Signed up with a pest control service. Getting house ready to be treated took some elbow grease and time. Regarding bugs I had tried everything and after numerous engagements the “Germans” made it clear that it was a “I’ll Be Back” deal. I’m also concerned about a couple of other farm/ranch / forest pest inevitabilities. Someone’s in the kitchen with Dinah, but someone’s also in the attic and that ain’t a banjo. Plans in the works for grape vines and possibly blueberries.

Good day all. I've accomplished nothing so far. I also love heelers and started to get another one last fall but didn't. I had one female for years that I bred to my neighbors Catahoula. Those were great pups. I took one on the motorcycle with me. At first I had to tie the leash to my belt and hold her in my lap. After a few rides she'd sit up until we picked up speed and turn around and slide her head under my shirt tail until we slowed down again. She'd also stay next to the bike if it was a new place, that was her safe place.
The first trip was interesting. I had not messed with the puppies before attempting. It's hard to catch a dog and stop a bike on a dirt road at the same time.

We've had heelers for decades. Love them with all my heart. Can't wait to get our new puppies once we're moved. My dream "pet" has been a corgi since I showed them as a kid. Never got one. We discussed it when we suddenly lost our last healer recently. The health issues they have really had delayed getting one. They've become very popular pets and bred down so their herding isn't really great anymore for the most part. Of course there are good breeders out there for herding but they seem to be hard to come by.
Great tip on the sherpherd's whistle cleaning!   So that's what is all over the inside of my windshield.:lol::lol: The first one I bought was the ACME nickel silver whistle. Tastes nasty. I've barely made an actual sound with it in 6 months. The one I ordered is a Logan A1 silver anodized aluminum whistle with rope lanyard. Allegedly this kit comes with a link to the "Logan Whistle Command Sound Guide" Hoping i'll have some success this time.
Sounds good -- too funny I pegged both breeds not knowing the Corgi connection.
Yeah there's been a lot of breeding out the herding. At least the ACD folks' breed club promotes herding and sooo many are excellent herders. The two Corgis are quite different. The Pembrokes being more pet and the Cardigans being more working.

Had a fabulous night last night. DH threw a BDay party with my bestest friends. He got our favorite chef to come and cook dinner for all of us. OMG -- I'm still stuffed. Skipped breakfast. One of my friends who is a photographer also brought her drone. DH said it would be fun for others to see the sheep put away --- moving from pasture to barn -- because I do it with the dogs. She asked if she could use her drone to photograph it. I said sure (having done that for herding students years ago and it worked well). So I went to the barn to put the mamas and lambs away, then back to the pasture. LOL -- I got to the pasture and ... NO SHEEP .... they're usually waiting at the gate (with the look of what took you so long  ). They were way far back in the furthest corner of the pasture. The drone -- they must've thought that @drstratton 's bees flew down here for a vacation! So, the drone was flown back and landed. There I am, with an audience (and some who know herding) and I'm thinking what do I do now? Sheep are a bit sketchy, Zo is raring to go (ah the exuberance of his youth) and Obi at my side. I sent Zo up the ranch road a bit to prevent a possible escape run to the barn as fast as you can, and sent Obi on a very big flank to gather up the sheep. The sheep startled a little, but quickly settled. Obi did a beautiful outrun, lift and gather and brought them all to the gate nice an calm. Going down the road to the barn was nice an peaceful as both Zo and Obi did their normal work on sides, front and back. PHEW!
On to today - high of 80. This is getting way too old. Things are turning yellow. No good and I'm guessing we are in for a hellacious fire season this year. If I could send the heat out to all of you I would.

I'd like 10 degrees worth of warmer... that's all....not greedy...... I can deal with the nights in the 20's.... days in the 30-40's.... even nights in the teens with warmups in the 30's would be good.... 5 degrees up to 20's for days on end is just pushing even my patience...
ALTHOUGH... I am getting used to it now... and feeling a little better, more energy and all, makes it "doable" even if not "likable"... reminds me of "my youth"..... just takes me longer to do it now...

MAYBE this will kill off some "bugs and germs"....?????:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl PLEASE

Good afternoon all! :frow
Got started packing DH's rig for his trip. Made good progress. Went through each "job" at home and what he could possibly need. What we need to leave here still and what we can replace here if it's needed. Think we got the majority of things worked out and packed. Now it's odds and ends for the trip, his stay there and any extra's we can fit after that. Trying to think of the day to day things he'll need or want there. Like soap. Dish cloth. Laundry soap. Things that can stay and not go bad or things that need to go anyways. This evening we take his tires back off his rig so I can take them back in tomorrow to the tire shop. They were so poorly balanced but we refused to take them back after the experience I had last week. What surprised us is the manager called me wanting more information on my visit. Apparently multiple surveys were filled out with similar or the same things I said were unacceptable. They've offered the manager to re balance the tires personally. He also offered to waive the $100 installation fee on the next set of tires and him personally do the work for us. We need two more sets of truck tires and maybe some trailer tires before things go home. We'll see. So tomorrow the tires will go back and be properly balanced. Hopefully. I'll get a new set of sheets and a few other things he'll need there while I'm out. I'm feeling like the move is really going to get moving now after so many delays. While DH is gone I think I'll pull more things out for sale photo's and get the remaining goats processed and in the freezer and stock made from the bones. May even process the remaining chickens but I'm not sure yet. I really would like to take everything home in the next trip or two that I'd need for that. But eggs are a big part of our diet so I'm really not sure when I want to process them. I think the majority if not all of our freeze dried eggs are at home already. Oops. I'm finding that a lot lately. 😂 I did find two random jars of celery which allowed me to make chili this weekend for supper and for DH to take on his trip.
The jersey girls are out on pasture for the afternoon. They are getting looser stool so it's looking like nutrition is hitting the grass. With the heftiness of the beef cows recently I was wondering if nutrition was coming. Calves are thriving although the sickly guy is panting in the 74* "heat" today and coughing so it sounds like he's going to need another dose of meds. I need to shuffle the heifer in and the main cow and her 3 calves out to the larger dairy pasture.
Well DH just woke up early again. Neither of us are sleeping well right now. I guess we'll get started early.
Y'all have a good evening! :hugs

When you said drone footage, I was so excited and looking forward to the video... silly sheep! You have amazing dogs, of course they brought them in perfectly for you. 💞

I hope you get the rain and cooler weather that you need.

I'm a mix of panic, fear of the unknown and excitement that it seems like the move is going to really be happening now. My trip didn't really feel like moving to me and I'm not sure why. Maybe because the previous owners were still there. I didn't really look around or investigate where I want to put things because so much of their stuff was still there and it didn't feel right to look around. They told me to but it just didn't feel right.
