On the business end of a shovel this morning. Hubbs brought up soil from the bottoms. I needed to build part of a bed to keep it in place as we are expecting heavy rain this weekend. Also prepped one bed about the size of a door, it’s ready to plant. I needed to refresh my containers in my hoop house. Saw a rat in there . Frosty the lamb was penned all day. Moses has left her alone, Vala wants to play but that is a No of course. Deciding on grape varieties. Im favoring a muscadine hybrid. Less powdery mildew issues. Apples possible this year if the warm weather doesn’t tempt the trees to bloom too early. Have a great day all.

Morning chores were so much nicer -- back to something normal. Only a thin layer if ice on water. Someone had already broken thru one, just a little push & done. What a relief after hammering for 2 weeks. 😁 Mid 50 today. YES!!

And I slept hard & well last night. Makes a difference in everything. Did some stretches when I got out of bed, also helps & wakes up the body. Now it's coffee time. Fresh, hot, really nice & comforting. Caffeine will kick in before long. I'll need that for work today....better get moving.

Enjoy your day everyone :celebrate
Congratulations on sleeping!! Keep that up! Send some sleep my way when you've had enough ok? ;)
Good morning all! Heading home today. Fly out at 4, to hopefully be home before 11pm. I'm going to miss the sunshine, looks like after Wednesday it's going to be mostly cloudy with highs in the 40's for the next 15 days. Looks like a couple of days of possible rain thrown in there. Hopefully we'll get some.

Have a beautiful day! 💗
Save travels! Will say prayers for you! ❤️✈️
Coffee is ready. I've got my ice pack in the small of my back. I'll be glad when I get over this and can go back to getting some things done around here.
Still praying for you :hugs
SG didn't tell me that, but he told everyone else. :\

I put it on Do Not Disturb anyway.
Often my phone doesn't come off Do Not Disturb. 🫣 Oops.

Good afternoon all! :frow
Just started raining here. Got our scamazon packages in just in time. Need to unpack them when I get home from picking up the 4th tire and hook everything up and get it ready for it's trip home. It will be so nice to have the camera system up and running there until we are done moving. Previous owners have been stopping by every few days still checking on things. So grateful for them. Will be sending more homemade candy for DH to leave there for them if he doesn't see them. Have so much to do before DH leaves. Hope to get on it as soon as I get home from town.
Not much else so far today because it's just starting. I guess I'd better get ready to leave so I can get the tire and get back home and start cooking and getting laundry done. Have a lot of food to package up and get into the freezer too. Oh and a bag of lemons to get on trays to freeze dry for lemon powder. Thanks for reminding me! 😂
Y'all have a great afternoon! :hugs

My dad's mother TRIED growing "fancy" grapes. Super ha!

Black Spanish grapes though... they will take over the world! :clap In a good way, they are easy to cut back... they are not like kudzu. :hide

She also had one green grape that did well, but I can't remember it's name. She lived not where you do... she was over in the hill country. But still... should be close enough to your climate.

She also had so many figs! Do you grow figs?

She managed asparagus, I think Marsha Washington. She also had walking onions all along the garden edge.

She had a giant rosemary bush. Do you get too cold to grow a giant rosemary bush? She had one giant pear tree, it kept having trouble with fire blight.... and then pecans.

How many of those can you grow? You are probably too cold for peaches?

All those things are on my list or I have grown them. I’m planning figs- everbearing and Celeste. I had two asparagus beds at the old place, planning one here. Rosemary yes, near the grapes. I have a Moonglow and Bartlett pear aged 2yrs. I also had/have apples. Arkansas Blacks, Fuji, Granny Smith and a Honeycrisp. The soil around the house is a floury reddish sand and not much does well unless it’s amended. I have a barnful of amendment but it takes time. And I always find a way to grow tomatoes. In ground or containers. Navajo, Black Krim, Celebrity and Yellow Pear. Sorry I’ll use up the light and air talking about gardening. :hide

Many, many years ago we looked at a rat trap house for sale. So walking around I saw a big asparagus bed!! So excited. It was THE best part of the whole property (that we didn't buy!). You can tell, I still remember the important things  :old

So whomever has your "old place" should be enjoying those established beds of asparagus! Time & work there

Car broke down on way home...only 2 miles away. Called DS to come get me. The keys were in my truck...car is off road in a little closed up convenience store/gas station lot. We'll go get it in morning & see what's up. 🤷 Dark when it happened. Sure needed another problem 😵‍💫
