Coffee anyone ?

Good morning everyone!

I'm heading to town with a friend today. We'll have lunch and then I'm helping her teach a fused glass class that she's doing. I help setup, cleanup and help people cut the glass if needed and to answer questions. It should be a fun day.

Have a lovely day all! 💗

Power back on. Need to go outside to do chores, not too excited about that with all the thunder. I’m always aware of all the metal, gates, wire fences, etc. I can wait.
Back when I was a young lad there was a thunderstorm looming no thunder just gloomy clouds down in Beaumont, TX. My dad had an infatuation with CB radios to be the biggest arsehole with the most power on the radio in the area. Anywho... running out to open the gate as always when he left or came I ran past one of his antennas just as a bolt of lightning struck it and hit every other antenna which knocked my arse out. Don't know if struck or not, but that's all I remember with a bright light.

Quarter sized hail at 4 this morning. Weather radio woke me up (along with 2 redundant alarms). I brought the Maremmas inside as the storm was twice warned. About 2 minutes of hail, not much wind or lightning. The sister storm was recharging as it passed so only light rain. I haven’t heard about damage locally yet. The Maremmas and Sophie were taking turns pestering each other and me til 5:45 all clear. Roof looks ok. Trees, roses and garden took a beating. They will recover. Have a good day everyone.

I had a similar experience as a teen, walking my dog down the road on an overcast day. There were woods on either side of the road. Suddenly I instinctively crouched as did my dog. There was a blinding light at the base of a tree less than 10' away. We ran home in time to meet my sister's fiance coming to find me. I was told there was a loud boom, but I never heard a thing.
