IS this even a farm? Canesister's 2026

It's a SIGN!
That would be five cats in the house.
And.... once grown... five cats eating Chaos' $60/bag Rx food.
Not to mention Trudy (the mama) out in the barn needing food & vet & all.
I actually made an appt today to have Trudy spayed (June 25) so I can move her to my place. 🙄

The struggle is real. We went from 2 to 4 in a very short time with 2 ferals joining our older 2 over the last two years or so. One nearly starved to death after TNR as she was just too small to catch larger wild rabbits and there wasn't a good rodent population at the time. She was living mostly on bugs and failing. So we took her in but couldn't find her a home. At a certain point folks stop answering my calls for homes. The last one DH just wouldn't let back loose knowing we were leaving and she'd die quickly like the rest. Just what we needed in the middle of a move. :idunnoGotta get outta here before more ferals show up.

I have 9 cats -- none indoor but one really wants to be 🤫. Nope. So, ferals and over the yrs they invited friends. The one who wants indise, a drop off last yr, I'm convinced...like a 3 mo kitten 🤷 But my barns provide plenty of mice, rare that a mouse gets inside anymore 🤣 I feed 1X a day....everyone got wet food & wormer last week.

Plus cats are known to help keep snakes away.

I currently have three friendly TNR ferals, but others have been coming by. Spike and Snowball (neighbor's named them) have been TNR'd, but others still need to be trapped. There's a tux, a pinto, a big yellow tom, and an older battered tabby tom that my neighbor named Tabby. He was abandoned by her neighbor when he moved out, and in with his GF. I speak very soothingly to him when he shows up, poor fellow. And there's a Himalayan type that shows up occasionally. I saw it yesterday and it looks thin.

So...I'll pass on a kitten....
:gig

Plus Debbie would never forgive me.
