You could always use it for both. The kidding pen only needs to be 6x5 so that would leave room for hay.

Our property came with a similar metal shed.

We use ours for a feed shed. DH put counters on two walls. Our dog food, chicken pellets, BOSS, scratch & goat feeds all go in metal garbage cans (with 4 wheels attached, for easy rolling), which fit under the counters. The remaing full wall is used to stack hay.

When we ran electric to our out buildings, we also ran it to the feed shed, so we have light, when preparing dog food during winter when it gets dark early.

One problem we had, was that the shed leaked when it rained. That was solved by filling holes with spray foam. Leaks in the roof were fixed by pulling out screws (that leaked) & putting a small dab of silicone caulk before replacing the screw. This was a lot cheaper than washers.

Another problem was heat in summer. DH cut holes in both gable ends and put aluminim fixed louvered vents, to allow for heat to escape & increase air flow.

One of the biggest problems we have, is the height of the door (about 60 inches :barnie). DH is 6'2" and I am 5'7", so it is a problem, if we forget to duck. :thEventually we want to build a bigger feed shed. But, for now it is a good alternative.

I'm 5'1" and i never eve noticed until about a month ago(after living on the farm for over a year) our door we use to go in and out of the trailer is 71" tall....DH is 6'4" :hide

I felt so bad i never even thought about it but every single time he has to go in and out of the door he has to duck his head. :(

Question what do you mean by counters

Goats and metal sheds can be a problem, they like to scratch and rub on everything. I was use the metal shed for the hay and build a kidding pen from wood.

I would close off front and add a door to this and make this kidding pin
