My understanding is deer can clear a 6' fence. Along with @farmerjan's thought is double 4' fencing spaced such that the deer will fear they can't get out from between the fences so they won't jump the outer one. But that is a lot more fence!

Our friend Erick put up 7' fencing for his Anatolians. He put in tall posts but to save money put up 47" woven wire and added 3' welded wire on the top. It gave him a 7' wire fence. The posts were expensive but you can't get 6' or 7' wire.

We have a bunch of 8' t posts, which is what is being used around the new garden zone. Hubby clarified and he wants the type of fence with the welded pipe at the top (you know, to clearly show the deer how high they have to jump). He helped his dad install some at his dad's place around 15 years ago and it is still in great shape, just needs new paint. I agree that type of fence looks nice, still not sure why we can't do that as 6' tall.

We worked in the new garden zone on Sunday and it's coming along, I should be able to start seeds and move plants in soon. I didn't remember to take pictures until after it was dark but we had a very productive day and I drove the excavator! Munchkin was helpful but did end up a little sunburned, my ears got burned too.

So far he's being a great kid and loves trying to do what we are doing. I'm hoping he continues that even after he's a teenager, but we have 11+ years to see. Hard to believe he's going to be 2 in September. I really hope he doesn't get jealous of his baby brother and keeps being a sweetheart.

Good luck! I have heard rumors of teens who actually help, even like it and volunteer. But it may have been in a fantasy novel

I have occasionally seen some of these teens. Usually not your own children. Usually new friends of your children that are fascinated by the fact that your children live on a farm with animals. Your children usually drop these wonderful friends asap. If they remain friends, and the friends have helped you, your children find ways to only meet these friends in other locations.

It's now raining/storming again, our beautiful sunshine is gone. Dragging this morning, need to get a move on before I'm extremely late. Munchkin is peeing through his diapers overnight. Going to try a size larger even though the size 4 still fit ok. He is starting to say more words and even starting to try to sing the ABCs.
