Ohio's GREAT! Pretty, green, winter/summer contrast, summer not too hot, definitely humid, lots of truck poop in the winter. Plows usually run. Crazy drivers near Toledo, but nothing too bad as long as you stay sensible. Mind those potholes or they'll take your wheel off, but not too many potholes outside of thaw season. (schools' quality are a concern though)

If that's "great".....wow, for what's bad
Plagues of deer flies, mosquitoes, and frogs+bad neighbors of New England.
But seriously, Ohio was one of our favorite places to live. It's nice to just be outside most of the year. Snow, but not the Iowa level hard core winter of my youth that killed people. I don't even remember having chiggers there (but I'm sure you could find them if you tried).

One thing about the Ohio job.... are you familiar with COLD, wet, loooonger winters????
@farmerjan I grew up in Illinois across from St Louis Missouri that was hot in summer and ice in winter. I spent 4yrs in Iowa and a couple years at Ohio State. I much prefer snow then long rainy springs vs the Texas weather. Alijah spent his high school years in Alaska.

The biggest issue is being so far way from family. That was greatest perk about last job, 10min to Grandma and cousins. I only have 1 job lead where we wouldn’t have to move. :(

As I have gotten older, long cold snowy winters aren't as inviting as they were, but I have to agree, I will take them over the very hot weather that you and @Baymule and others talk about down there. I could not bear the months and months of hot summer temps... We get enough here... but the mountains mitigate some of it...
Sorry for the conflict of family situations...

See what the one lead offers that would not require you to move... then go from there...

One of my white wethers died. :hit Not too bloaty so guessing it happened last night. No marks laying down in barn area. Membranes were really white but I'm not sure if that changes after death. The tamer adult ewes all have nice pink eyelids. I will have Alijah help me catch and work the sheep. The other wether will get a jab of antibiotics and wormer just in case.

I think I'm at the point where it is more cost effective to buy my own scope. Even if I group as listed that's five sample to pay for, sigh. It will have to wait till I get my reimbursement for Ohio interview. I used sheep money to cover it.

I have fleas in the house... just noticed them a couple days ago... had used a topical on Silkie... the spayed female ... sister to the long haired brother that got killed on the road a few weeks ago. But, she is royally ticked off because I got the kittens from the farm recently.. so she has been coming out from under the one trailer over near the poultry pens, when I take feed/water out in the mornings... I had to carry her to the house and inside, yesterday. Plus, I have not caught the other feral cat that was sneaking in the house... so she might have gotten them from "it"... I am pretty sure it is another male.... now with the kittens, it is near impossible to set the trap because they are into everything. And although they are fed out in the shed... they wind up on the porch into the boxes and stuff all the time...
I will use a "bomb" one day I am going to be going to test.... be gone for hours... but in the meantime, I get the flea powder that you sprinkle on the rugs and floors, Leave for an hour or more, then vacuum up. It kills the fleas and also is supposed to kill the eggs in the rugs... usually have to do it a few times... to make sure they all come in contact with it... It smells nice, and I have always had very good luck with using it.
